Charles County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, allege that the car pulled into a parking lot but reversed. The car left the parking lot at a high rate of speed and deputies escalated a chase which led to a crash with a third-party vehicle. The fleeing driver was injured but third-party driver Inga Pearson, 52, of Washington, DC was found near her vehicle with life-threatening injuries and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the stop, 27-year-old Osman Sesay exited the rear passenger side of the vehicle, contrary to officers' orders, and allegedly pointed a handgun at them. In response, four officers—Nathan Lenhart, Karli Dorsey, Dennis Tejada, and Eric Kessler—fired their weapons, striking Sesay. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On November 28, 2021, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a male family member, armed with a knife, had chased a woman from a residence in the 1400 block of Braden Loop in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Upon arrival, officers knocked on the door multiple times but received no response. They forcibly entered the home and encountered 32-year-old Digno "DJ" Ramon Yorro Jr., who was armed with a knife. Officers issued multiple commands for Yorro to drop the weapon, which he ignored. Non-lethal measures, including beanbag shotgun rounds and a Taser, were deployed but proved ineffective. Yorro then advanced towards the officers, still holding the knife, at which point Corporal Joseph Burger discharged his firearm, striking Yorro multiple times. Yorro was pronounced dead at the scene.

On September 10, 2021, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Corporal John Diggs of the Prince George's County Police Department, who resided at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Owens Road in Oxon Hill, Maryland, was informed by a complex employee that Cedric Ricardo Williams, 29, who had been previously banned from the property, was on the premises. In full uniform, Corporal Diggs approached Williams and instructed him to leave. Williams refused, leading to a verbal confrontation that escalated into a physical struggle outside the building and onto a roadway.

During the altercation, Williams retrieved a handgun from his bookbag. The weapon allegedly malfunctioned which was not specified further. Williams then discarded the handgun into a wooded area. Corporal Diggs fired his Taser twice in an effort to subdue Williams. Williams retrieved what appeared to be a gun from the wooded area and pointed it at Corporal Diggs. Corporal Diggs discharged his service weapon multiple times, fatally striking Williams.

On 05/16/2021, Baltimore Police Department officers responded to a call at 1800 block E. Lafayette Avenue in Baltimore at 10: 39 a.m. regarding a family disturbance. Upon arrival, they were informed by someone outside that a man, later identified as Timothy Fleming, was inside with a knifeand holding a woman at knifepoint. Officers entered the home and proceeded to the second floor, where they encountered Fleming, the woman, and another family member. Fleming allegedly grabbed the woman by her hair and made a motion as if to stab her. Two officers then fired their weapons, killing Fleming.

On 05/02/2021, around 2 a.m., Joshua Day was crossing North Point Boulevard in Dundalk when he was initially struck by a car. The driver of this car stopped at the scene. Shortly after, Berlynn Matthews, 21, stopped to assist Day. Tragically, off-duty Officer William Collazo-Brown on a motorcycle then struck both individuals, leading to their deaths. Collazo-Brown was subsequently arrested and charged with DUI-related offenses.He was found guilty of criminally negligent manslaughter, driving under the influence, homicide with a motor vehicle, and negligently operating a vehicle under the influence.

He was sentenced to 18 months in jail with additional probation conditions, including home detention, after his release from incarceration.

On 02/25/2021, around 9: 22 p.m., officers from the Baltimore Police Department's Inner Harbor unit were flagged down in the area of Market and Pratt streets following a non-fatal shooting. On 02/06/2021, around 8 a.m., Montgomery County police received multiple 911 calls reporting a man driving erratically in a Volkswagen sedan on Olney Laytonsville Road and Fieldcrest Road in Gaithersburg. Before Deputy Frank Pruitt arrived, the driver had already struck two vehicles. Upon arrival, Pruitt observed Kevin Costlow approaching two individuals with a large stick. On 02/04/2021, officers were searching for Dontae Green after he allegedly shot at officers at a grocery store in North Baltimore due to a dispute over his paycheck. Green was wanted on 19 charges, including attempted murder, armed robbery, and handgun violations. While police were clearing a residence associated with Green in the 1400 block of N.
