On April 24, St. Cloud police officers responded to a parking lot in the 200 block of 33rd Avenue South where a man was possibly using drugs in a car and gave police a false name. Officers then told him he was under arrest. He ran toward nearby Heritage Park with police chasing him. One officer used his Taser. Police allegedly lost track of him. Just before 8 a.m. the next day, a passerby reported him dead on a path in Heritage Park. His cause of death was not revealed by police. It is unclear why despite drones and surveillance tactics, police could not locate him on a path after tasering him.

On Monday, December 12th, a sergeant with the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department spotted a wanted man on County Road 4 in St. Wendel Township at 10:51 a.m. The sergeant pursued him, but he fled. Police got a call from a nearby construction site that someone had just stolen one of their work trucks. The same man, still fleeing, took out a street pole while escaping in the vehicle. The man fled again until he crashed into another vehicle in St. Cloud at the intersection of 36th Avenue North and 10th Street North. The third-party driver in the other vehicle never regained consciousness and died from his injuries on December 22nd.

The ex-wife managed to escape, but Fiafonou remained inside, holding her 13-year-old daughter at knifepoint. Upon arrival, officers encountered Fiafonou with the child, who had been stabbed several times. On 12/13/2021, at approximately 2: 40 p.m., law enforcement was dispatched to a shooting incident where a 20-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The shooter had left the location, and a description of the vehicle was broadcasted to surrounding law enforcement agencies. Two deputies from the Stearns County Sheriff's Office located a vehicle matching the description on Interstate 94. When they attempted to stop it, the driver left eastbound on I-94. The pursuit involved assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol and the Wright County Sheriff's Office, eventually ending near Monticello after road spikes were deployed to disable the vehicle's tires. On June 3, 2021, members of a U.S. Marshals Service task force attempted to arrest 32-year-old Winston Boogie Smith Jr. on an outstanding warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. The arrest took place in a parking ramp near West Lake Street in Minneapolis. During the encounter, Smith was reportedly uncooperative and produced a handgun.
