Trevor James Gueho, a 17-year-old Latino from Saucier, MS, was killed when his vehicle crashed and caught fire after fleeing a traffic stop in Gulfport, MS. This incident followed a purchase of alcohol by a minor from a convenience store earlier that evening. His death is the subject of a lawsuit filed by his father alleging the store negligently sold alcohol to him.

On February 5, 2024, officers from the Byram Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on 64-year-old Michael Reed on Interstate 55 in Byram, Mississippi, for a bond violation. On January 4, 2024, at approximately 5:15 p.m., George County Sheriff's Deputy Jeremy Malone conducted a traffic stop on U.S. Route 98 in the Rocky Creek community of George County, Mississippi.

During the stop, the driver, identified as 43-year-old Rickey Powell, allegedly shot and killed Deputy Malone. Powell then drove away. Law enforcement pursued Powell through George, Greene, and Perry counties, ending near Beaumont, Mississippi, where Powell was shot and killed by police.

Laurel PD set up a “safe checkpoint” and stopped 18-year-old Dakota Gray. Police felt they smelled marijuana and the driver fled with police chasing the vehicle at high speeds until it crashed into a tree, killing Dakota Gray. Police allege that they called off the chase just before impact, a very common police action when a fatal crash is likely. During a chase, a person is considered “in custody” with the PD bearing responsibility for the chase. If a crash is imminent at high speeds and the chase is “called off” moments prior, it is just an accident and no longer the result of a pursuit. This pattern is so repetitive that numerous cases can be found in this database by searching for the words “called off.” Dakota Gray, an 18-year-old driver died in such a called-off chase and a cannabis odor.

Noah Jenkins was allegedly speeding and Meridian PD escalated a chase, worsening the speed to above 100 mph. This dangerous chase continued on streets until Noah Jenkins crashed near Highway 39 and died. Police have made no claims that he had committed any crimes so far, only giving the reason of speeding as reason for escalating the fatal high-speed chase.

Multiple law enforcement agencies hunted a vehicle from Marion, Arkansas into Hernando, Mississippi, ending in Crittenden County in a crash and fireball on the I-55 when the vehicle that had been hunted extensively lost control at high speed and crashed into a semi-truck head-on, killing the third-party driver of the truck. Two other motorists are severely injured.

This chase had begun as a domestic violence incident when a woman who had a no-contact order against a former partner was followed and rammed by his car on the road. She hit a concrete wall and survived but this triggered a multi-state manhunt and very long dangerous chase that ended in the death of an uninvolved truck driver who was on the road when the police chase crashed head-on into him.

Simpson County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call on Highway 545. When police arrived, the man ran to a cemetery, then stole a police vehicle and was chased by police during which time, he struck 2 vehicles with the cruiser. He finally stopped at the Quick Stop gas station on Highway 49 when he exited the police cruiser with an AR-15. It is believed that this may have been the service rifle in the patrol car.
