A motorcycle driver died in the hospital following a police chase that ended in a wreck in Wayne County. A Perry County deputy in the Richton area had tried to stop Henry Edward Pittman on MS-42 and initiated a traffic stop, but the motorcycle driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase. Pittman crashed at the intersection of Brewertown Road and Narvel Brewer Road in Wayne County. He died.

Jasper County police state that 48-year-old Roderic Tyrone Moss killed himself with a self-inflicted gunshot in Clarke County around 3 p.m. Wednesday when they arrived to arrest him for a homicide. When police arrived at the residence, Moss reportedly ran into the home, and police then heard a gunshot. SWAT deployed gas. When the gas cleared, a robot was sent into the home and showed video footage of Moss’ body.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. at an address on Highway 35 in Columbia approximately 32 miles west of Hattiesburg, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department tried to serve a warrant on Lonnie Hendon who held a weapon towards the deputies and was shot and killed. No officers were charged.

Dylan Arrington, one of four people who escaped the Raymond Detention Center was found dead in the burned home in Carthage, Mississippi.
On Wednesday morning, Arrington was found at the home and opened fire, striking a deputy in a leg. Law enforcement agencies responded to a fire at the home, where the man locked himself in. He was found dead inside the burning home.

James Corey Donald was being escorted out of The Rock Pentecostal Church when the off-duty officer instigated an altercation. The off-duty deputy punched Donald in the face and chased him into a parking lot before shooting him and kicking him in the head. Officer George Ryan Walters has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. The sheriff’s department said that Walter turned himself in to authorities.

Dexter Wade had set out on foot through the Mississippi woods with a friend on March 5, 2023 and never returned home. His family looked for him desperately, searched the woods and made reports with the police who claimed no knowledge of what happened to him. Seven months later, his mother found out that he had been hit and killed by a police car while crossing a highway less than an hour after last being seen. Police reportedly knew his identity throughout and also knew the name and contact information of his mother but instead of contacting family, police left his body in the morgue for months and finally quietly buried him in the jail’s penal farm without notifying family. His mother Betterston Wade said their family was tragically familiar with Jackson Police since they murdered her 62-year-old brother George Robinson (court case linked below). The officer was convicted of manslaughter for brutally slamming the elderly man to the floor and killing him. The officer was convicted in 2022 and is currently appealing the decision. The case erupted into race controversy between the black District Attorney and the white Attorney General who is known for protecting the status quo. When Dexter Wade first disappeared, his grandmother urged his mother not to call the police because grandma was very distrustful of Jackson Police. The mother hoped that he would be found and reported him missing with the police. By then, police had his body in the morgue and knew his identity but did not inform his family. The family asked everyone who knew Dexter. His children canvassed the neighborhood, asking who may have seen him. For months, the family called Jackson PD and was told that police knew nothing every time. Jackson PD did not explain why they handled this case this way. There is no dashcam or bodycam footage and the entire story of him having been run over by police on the I-55 rests upon the credibility of police in this case. Jackson PD had targeted the family before when Dexter’s uncle was killed. Now they withheld all information about the death of Dexter Wade from the family for 7 months while they buried him without an autopsy or family knowledge or consent, having known his identity all along. Police finally disclosed that allegedly, an off-duty police corporal had struck and killed Dexter Wade with a police SUV. The officer was not DUI-tested and was not charged or ticketed for the fatal accident. Police tested him for drugs and found some meth and prescription drugs in his system. He had a prescription bottle in his pocket that had been legally prescribed to him. The coroner claims that he obtained the name and number of Wade’s mother and left her a voicemail. The mother has no record of such a phone call. No further efforts were made to notify the family. The family posted all over Facebook, hoping to find him. Meanwhile, the coroner confirmed in his own notes that “no family or next of kin has been notified yet” and police continued stonewalling. The coroner confirmed that he had been aware for a number of weeks that the family had not been notified. Meanwhile, the family was posting messages to help find him throughout the neighborhood, the police department and social media. One day after the last call by his mother to police, Jackson PD quietly buried him. His mother now questions whether the strange concealed death of her son by police could have something to do with the death of her brother. “Maybe it was a vendetta. Maybe they buried my son to get back at me,” she wonders. She also says that the timeline police gave is not possible. The location where he was allegedly run over and killed was a longer walk from the house than he could have mastered on foot by the time police logged the accident into the system. The mother openly questions whether the police narrative is true at all or not.

Keith Murriel was in front of the Extended Stay hotel when police got complaints about his presence. Officer Kenya McCarty walked up to him and ordered him to leave. BWC captured her using foul language and an aggressive stance. She began threatening him with a taser when he did not leave immediately. Murriel was attacked, tasered continuously with 3 cops on top of him, died. He was reportedly tasered at least 50 times before he died. Officer Kenya McCarty was fired.

Amy Brogdon Anderson was a local veterinarian who on December 14, 2022 called police and told them she was being followed and asked for help. Police evidently did not take this claim seriously and voiced concern about her minor daughter who was with her, pressuring her. She was threatened with Child Protective Services. Coming under intense scrutiny and accusations by police instead of receiving the help she had asked for, she tried to drive away from them. She shot at police, killing both officers. One officer had fired back. She was later found dead in her car from what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Her child had been with her through the murders of 2 officers and apparently also her own suicide. She had already been in an agitated frightened state and belief has been voiced that she was triggered into desperate action when police threatened to take her child by force via CPS which triggered the catastrophic cascade of events by escalating her via police.

Officers responded to a call making various allegations from juveniles pointing guns at cars to shoplifting. When police arrived, they allege Jaheim McMillan did not comply and pointed a gun at police. Police then shot and killed him. BWC footage is linked proving a very different narrative. On video, officer Kenneth Nassar is seen driving up to the Dollar General parking lot. A juvenile is seen running near the entrance of Dollar General. Officer Nassar is seen getting out of his car and shooting at the boy immediately, then screaming at the other teens. McMillan is seen bleeding heavily on the ground for the entire 15-minute video without anyone checking his vital signs or making any efforts to help him. The video before the shooting does not show him as “refusing to comply” or pointing any guns at anyone, only running away for a brief few seconds before being killed instantly. McMillan’s mother showed up screaming and crying that she wanted to see her son and was arrested. Officer Nassar was cleared by a grand jury for the killing of the boy.

Police chased Edwards for undisclosed reasons before he jumped off the bridge. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies had been chasing him on a highway outside Pascagoula but backed off when he reached the city limits. He said Edwards continued to speed through the city until a tire on his vehicle blew out on the bridge whereupon he jumped. He missed the water and landed on the hard ground below and died.

Capitol Police allegedly attempted a traffic stop on Jaylen Lewis. It is unknown why they tried to stop him and unknown what led to the police shooting. He was shot and killed by police while inside his vehicle. No video or other evidence is available.

Maurice Taylor, 37, was chased at high speed by Capitol Police for allegedly driving recklessly and fast without a tag, refusing a traffic stop. Police escalated a chase until he crashed into an embankment surrounding a culvert. He died at the scene. The vehicle was stolen.
