Corlunda McGinister may have had a mental health crisis when she wandered into a Walmart, held a woman hostage, waved a gun and kept repeating that she needed to talk to a news anchor. Keith Murriel was in front of the Extended Stay hotel when police got complaints about his presence. Officer Kenya McCarty walked up to him and ordered him to leave. BWC captured her using foul language and an aggressive stance. She began threatening him with a taser when he did not leave immediately. Murriel was attacked, tasered continuously with 3 cops on top of him, died. He was reportedly tasered at least 50 times before he died. Officer Kenya McCarty was fired.

Amy Brogdon Anderson was a local veterinarian who on December 14, 2022 called police and told them she was being followed and asked for help. Police evidently did not take this claim seriously and voiced concern about her minor daughter who was with her, pressuring her. She was threatened with Child Protective Services. Coming under intense scrutiny and accusations by police instead of receiving the help she had asked for, she tried to drive away from them. She shot at police, killing both officers. One officer had fired back. She was later found dead in her car from what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Her child had been with her through the murders of 2 officers and apparently also her own suicide. She had already been in an agitated frightened state and belief has been voiced that she was triggered into desperate action when police threatened to take her child by force via CPS which triggered the catastrophic cascade of events by escalating her via police.

Isiah Winkley was a Christian college cybersecurity student in Pensacola who driving near Highway 603 when his vehicle was stuck in the mud. The family’s attorney said he was walking to seek help but a neighbor saw him on the porch, called police and at least 3 deputies arrived and without investigating, assumed he was a burglar and opened fire, killing him.

Officers responded to a call making various allegations from juveniles pointing guns at cars to shoplifting. When police arrived, they allege Jaheim McMillan did not comply and pointed a gun at police. Police then shot and killed him. BWC footage is linked proving a very different narrative. On video, officer Kenneth Nassar is seen driving up to the Dollar General parking lot. A juvenile is seen running near the entrance of Dollar General. Officer Nassar is seen getting out of his car and shooting at the boy immediately, then screaming at the other teens. McMillan is seen bleeding heavily on the ground for the entire 15-minute video without anyone checking his vital signs or making any efforts to help him. The video before the shooting does not show him as “refusing to comply” or pointing any guns at anyone, only running away for a brief few seconds before being killed instantly. McMillan’s mother showed up screaming and crying that she wanted to see her son and was arrested. Officer Nassar was cleared by a grand jury for the killing of the boy.

Police chased Edwards for undisclosed reasons before he jumped off the bridge. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies had been chasing him on a highway outside Pascagoula but backed off when he reached the city limits. He said Edwards continued to speed through the city until a tire on his vehicle blew out on the bridge whereupon he jumped. He missed the water and landed on the hard ground below and died.

Linda Childs was killed when an officer's vehicle struck her in her car as she was attempting to cross the highway. It is unknown what the officer’s speed was and why this accident occurred. The officer was cleared.

Mable Arrington was a single mom of 4 children who was beloved in her community. On 08/22/2022, police arrived at her house without a warrant and shot and killed her in front of her children just outside of the apartment. Police refused to give an explanation and also refused to release the bodycam footage despite protests and demands by friends, family and local community.

Family were left to piece together their own investigation since police were uncooperative with even most basic information. Family said that Arrington’s children had been mistreated by other children and someone had filed a complaint which got police involved. Police arrived and shot and killed Arrington who had multiple bullets in her body on autopsy. She is believed to have been unarmed. Police never explained the reason for her homicide.

Jonathan Sanchez was pulled over for speeding when police discovered he was wanted out of Florida for kidnapping. He pulled a gun and took 3 children and a family member managed to get one of three children out of the car before Sanchez drove off. Police chase him at high speed and despite the fact that there were known to be two children in the car, police placed spike strips until the vehicle crashed. The man exited the vehicle with a gun and committed suicide under police duress in front of his children.

Cadillac Police officers traffic-stopped a vehicle driving without headlights early Saturday on South Mitchel Street. Two men in the vehicle admitted to alcohol use including the driver. On July 26, 2021, around 8 p.m., Rankin County deputies responded to a call regarding burglary and vandalism. They spotted Damien Montrell Cameron exiting the woods. Police escalated a chase, apprehended Cameron. Police allege that he resisted. Police handcuffed him and placed him in the back of a police cruiser and when they returned an unspecified length of time later, they claim to have found him dead in handcuffs in the cruiser. This official police narrative is not collaborated by any bodycam or other evidence. While police omitted mention of injuries, photos submitted by his mother of him comatose in the hospital after the police assault shows significant injuries to his head and face. In addition, the sheriff’s office admitted that deputies handcuffed and locked him in a cruiser for an unspecified length of time prior to finding him dead in the vehicle. Temperatures were recorded at 98 degrees Fahrenheit in Braxton, MS on the day he was found dead in the locked cruiser. It is unknown whether and what types of injuries he may have had during arrest when police obliquely stated he had “resisted” and was overpowered by an unknown number of deputies. On July 17, 2021, deputies from the Madison County Sheriff's Office were executing an arrest warrant for Quentin Bogard, who was wanted for the alleged murder of his children's mother in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Bogard locked himself in a room at the Relax Inn. Police escalated a three-hour standoff. He allegedly fired shots at police. Police shot and killed him

At approximately 5 a.m. on June 23, 2021, a deputy encountered Robert Alan Blackburn, who was allegedly armed with a knife on County Road 742 in Corinth, Mississippi. The deputy attempted to disarm Blackburn using a Taser and pepper spray. Blackburn fled into the woods and returned approximately 30 minutes later. Police fired a taser at him twice and allege that after the second taser firing, he allegedly lunged at them with a knife. They shot and killed him.
