On May 29, 2025, police attempted to stop a vehicle tied to an armed robbery that occurred on May 21 in St. Louis. The man driving the vehicle did not stop and drove away. Police escalated a chase. He exited the vehicle and ran into a wooded area near Natural Bridge and Clara Avenues. Officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI Fugitive Task Force confronted him and during the encounter, officers opened fire and shot him. He was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. The Force Investigative Unit is reviewing the incident.

On May 18, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., a 21-year-old male from Fenton, Missouri, was fatally shot by a St. Charles police officer following a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Ameristar Boulevard and South 5th Street. On May 4, 2025, around 12:15 p.m., Lebanon Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 400 block of North Monroe Street. They found a woman outside with a gunshot wound. She was hospitalized. The armed man, Roger Starnes, barricaded himself inside. On May 2, 2025, 36-year-old Dustin J. Johnson allegedly shot his ex-wife’s current husband during a domestic dispute in the Argosy Casino parking lot in Riverside, Missouri. He fled in a rented U-Haul truck. Riverside Police and Platte County deputies pursued him onto I-29, where Kansas City Police deployed stop sticks. Raytown police were dispatched to a QuikTrip after a dispute between Kenneth R. Williams and a security guard.
