Per St. Louis PD, their officers were chasing a Kia that had allegedly stolen something from Dollar General. When stop sticks were deployed, the Kia went into North City and crashed into a Blue Infiniti G35. The St. Louis Metro PD then took over the case and reported that third party motorist Jerome Hightowerwhose car the police chase had crashed into had died.
Bystanders said they saw kids being taken out of the Kia after the crash. A police report stated there were two 3-year-olds inside the car at the time of the police chase and crash. The children and two other adults who were inside the car at the time were listed in stable condition following the incident. Jerome Hightower, the driver of the car who was hit by the chase, died.

On Dec. 27, 2022 Missouri Highway patrol chased what they felt may be an intoxicated driver until the chase ended in a fiery crash at a roundabout at 72nd Street and Overland Drive in Platte County. Genie Howard died. Family members said the wreck happened on the driver’s birthday and family very much question the police narrative based on eyewitness stories they heard. Genie Howard had spent some time in prison and was very proud that he had received his GED and was valedictorian. His life had gone in a positive direction. Relatives said they were frantically trying to get in touch with Genie Howard and when they received no answer, they began calling around and found out he had crashed and been taken to a burn unit. His mother said the burns covered 70% of his body including his face. The family said no one had notified them. The family said they only learned from hospital staff that Highway Patrol had been involved in his death. It took three days for Genie Howard to die. Family remain very skeptical of the police narrative, particularly due to the lack of information they received.

Excelsior Springs PD tried to stop Carl Carrell who had a warrant for a prior assault on a police officer. When police tackled him in the parking lot for arrest, they boxed him in from 2 sides with police vehicles. In response, he allegedly pulled out a gun and fired a shot, injuring one of the officers. Another officer shot and killed him. Carrell had been a Viet Nam veteran, underwater marine welder, had worked on skyscrapers and reconstructed and flipped houses in a number of countries and several continents. He reportedly had a problematic relationship with police authority, reasons for which are not known.

Missouri Highway Patrol escalated a chase to 95 mph against this driver for possible registration violation. The driver fled, made a sharp turn and the vehicle rolled over, ejecting the driver and a passenger. The driver died. Bade Ali Jabir was a refugee from Sudan who had some cultural and language difficulties and was being evicted. Neighbors supported him and said police caused the events that led to his death. He was being evicted and police allegedly intimidated him with creating perimeters, yelling into loudspeakers, sent remote control robots to invade his home and were relentlessly bearing down on him in his apartment. He refused to exit his home. SWAT officers then forcibly entered the home and shot and killed him after they allege he came out of a room holding a knife.
