On 03/12/2021, police from multiple agencies responded to a report of a man and woman in a home on Gertrude Avenue in Raymond, New Hampshire, with concerns that the woman might be injured. Upon arrival, officers determined that two individuals were inside the residence and believed the woman to be in danger. After lengthy negotiations, the woman exited the home without serious injuries. The man initially came out of the residence but returned inside. Shortly thereafter, two gunshots were heard. Police entered the home and found the man deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On 03/02/2021, Barrington Police officers responded to a residence at 33 Cortland Way after reports of gunfire directed at an officer. The situation escalated into an hours-long standoff with Daniel Forrest Peavey, 58, barricaded inside the home. When police entered the home, Peavey was found deceased. Authorities did not immediately disclose the cause of death.
