Clovis Police Department Dispatch was alerted to a vehicle chase going into New Mexico from Texas on US 60/84 and said a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser was fleeing into Clovis, crossing Prince Street and Main Street. Near the intersection of 1st Street, between Rencher and Merriwether Streets, police said the driver crossed the median and crossed the eastbound lanes of 1st Street, before hitting a tree and killing Manuel Delgado, 33.

Farmington PD were responding to a domestic violence call. After knocking on Robert Dotson’s door twice, they realized they were at the wrong address. He answered the door with a gun as it was late night and the officers shot him immediately, killing him. Police also exchanged gunfire with his wife, according to newly released body camera video of the April 5 shooting. The officers responding to a domestic violence report arrived at the wrong house. All officers were cleared and a judge tossed out the lawsuit in 5/2025.

Sunland Park PD showed up to a home where Hernandez was allegedly belligerent and causing a domestic disturbance. Police went inside, escorted 2 other people outside and saw Hernandez in the kitchen with a gun. They ordered him to drop the gun and he did. Hernandez was heard saying "there it is" in Spanish and the gun dropped from his pants to the floor. The officer is then heard telling Hernandez to turn around four times. Hernandez is heard telling the officer "you're in my house, bro" and tried to pick up the gun whereupon he was shot and killed by police.

Just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Alamogordo PD were called to an area near Ridgecrest Drive after reports of a man walking around with a gun. The man 26-year-old Dominic Cruz De La O who had outstanding felony warrants. Police tried to arrest him and he reportedly fled with police chasing him and using a taser on him. He reportedly pulled a gun in response. He was shot and killed.

Blaine Denetdele was causing a domestic disturbance. Albuquerque PD were called because a person was trespassing with claims that he was “armed with a knife.” Officers Alex Couch and Chance Gore shot and killed him. Las Cruces PD responded to a call about a man allegedly shoplifting a single beer. When police arrived, they allege Presley Eze was not complying with undisclosed commands. Police launched a tactical attack and ultimately shot and killed him. The bodycam was blurred for the critical incident and useless as evidence. One shot was fired, invisible to the only bodycam video provided. A second BWC was not made available from other officers. After the shooting, a second officer arrived and began an investigation and silenced him multiple times while on BWC. The footage is linked below. Officer Lunsford was charged with voluntary manslaughter in October of 2023.

New Mexico State Police arrived to check on a man who was on the side of a highway, allegedly, slumped over. When police arrived, he got out of the car and began walking toward them with his hand in his pocket. Police claim that he attacked them and they shot and killed him. Chaves County deputies Joshua McKelveyvand Benjamin Conklin were called to a local dairy farm because David Aguilera was reportedly disorderly and tried to drive a tractor at work when someone called police. Police arrived and tasered him multiple times. He tried to escape the attack by driving away in a police vehicle. Officers Conklin and McKelvey shot and killed the unarmed man.Aguilera was polite, even apologetic toward the officers, and obviously confused, asking why he was being handcuffed. The deputy said he did not know what he had done to be arrested and he cursed Aguilera and tased him in response. It is unclear what escalated the situation because the bodycams of all 3 deputies stopped working at the same time when he was put in the cruiser and the video resumed later just prior to his killing. Officer McKelvey claimed that Aguilera picked up a pipe or tire iron but the other officers did not report this and the video evidence of what happened after he was put in the patrol car is inexplicably missing from all 3 deputies’ bodycams. Aguilera was reported by his family to be a dedicated family man with 6 children, 4 of whom were stepchildren whom he provided for and was reportedly a great parent to. After the killing, local media asked for Deputy Conklin to be indicted for his role in the avoidable death. Conklin had also previously shot and killed 65-year-old Craig Heinzen on July 16, 2021. After the Heintzen shooting, Conklin was struggling with mental health and alcoholism, spent 35 days as an inpatient in substance rehab and was at work mere weeks again when he killed Aguilera. The DA passed on the case and turned it over to the AG who reviewed it but did not indict the deputies.

A man had allegedly carjacked a woman and Santa Fe Police chased the vehicle at high speed until it crashed with multiple patrol cars, killing Officer Duran and a bystander.

Torrance County deputies were sent to a call about a car stuck in snow. They allege that they questioned the driver. It is unclear why. They further allege that he pulled a gun and pointed it. They shot and killed him. Police changed the story from an initial report that he had fired shots at them to him not shooting but having a gun. No BWC can be found.
