The pursuit continued back to Henderson, where Johnny exited the car and was subsequently shot by deputies. Mae emphasized that Johnny was unarmed during the incident.
Neighbors in the area expressed concern over the use of lethal force, questioning the necessity of the shooting given that Johnny was reportedly unarmed. Mae acknowledged Johnny's past legal issues but did not understand why the situation escalated to a fatal shooting.
