Police dispatch received a call that a white pickup truck was following a car and shooting at it. Police escalated a chase that reached North Carolina and the call was transferred to the Cleveland County dispatch center. Deputies from Cleveland County found the truck and tried to stop the persons. Police said the driver of the truck fled by running a red light and eventually turned off their lights. Deputies found the vehicle crashed into a home. Shelby PD said 6 six males were in the vehicle, 5 between the ages of 15-20 and one whose age was unknown. Police said 3 of the men died, 3 were taken to the hospital, and 1 was released.

Alamance County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report at 11:33 a.m. of an “unwanted guest who was in violation of a Domestic Violence Protection Order” and believed by the caller to be using drugs at the time of the call.
Deputies arrived at 11:38 a.m. and attempted to talk the man out of the residence. The man left the residence armed with a knife and lunged at a deputy. The deputy fired at the person in the left forearm, inflicting an injury. The man ran and hid behind junk vehicles. After some time, he asked for a cigarette. When the courier delivering the cigarette turned away, he allegedly lunged after him. Other officers shot and killed him.

During the conversation, the person allegedly retreated further into the home and then came back to the door with a rifle. A High Point police officer shot and killed Brian Burrow.
