On December 27, 2021, Robert Michael George, 53, was being pulled over by Punxsutawney Borough Police Department officers before 11 p.m. for several observed moving violations. George drove away. Police escalated a high-speed chase into Big Run, Pennsylvania. While attempting to navigate a curve in the road, George lost control of his Dodge Caliber and crashed into the Best Kawasaki dealership. He died in the crash. The incident is under investigation.

Hoffman, who was reported to have arrived at a residence on Anthony's Road in Foster Township carrying a rifle, waving it around, and screaming unintelligibly.

Upon arrival, officers encountered Hoffman carrying a dark-colored hunting rifle with a scope. Despite repeated commands to drop the weapon, Hoffman raised the rifle to the "lower ready" position, pointing it at the officers. In response, a state trooper fired a single shot, fatally wounding Hoffman.

The vehicle, occupied by Betty Jane Tibaldi and her husband, Nello Tibaldi, did not stop. Police escalated a chase, deploying spike strips that disabled the vehicle on Route 611 near Shine Hill Rd. The couple refused to exit the vehicle, and officers learned they had a gun. The Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was called to assist. Gakin, 34, of Spearfish, South Dakota, near mile marker 178 on Interstate 80 in Lamar Township, Clinton County. Gakin continued to drive, and officers escalated a high-speed chase for approximately 12 miles that ended near mile marker 165.7 in Marion Township, Centre County. On 06/15/2021, Pennsylvania State Police attempted to stop Jimmy Nguyen near Route 248 and Jandy Boulevard in Nazareth. Nguyen did not stop and continued driving. Near the intersection of Route 248 and Jandy Boulevard, Nguyen lost control, traveled into the opposite lane, clipped a Toyota RAV4, collided with a Mercedes SUV, and then crashed into a concrete barrier. He died in the crash. A bystander driver in the Mercedes was moderately injured. The officers involved were cleared of any wrongdoing.

On April 7, 2021, around 6:45 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a blue Kia Optima in the 1500 block of West Somerville Avenue after it failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle had four occupants. Upon running their information, officers found that two individuals, including 24-year-old James "Poppie" Alexander, had outstanding warrants. As officers attempted to remove Alexander from the vehicle, he allegedly drew a firearm and fired at them, striking Officer Matthew Ponente in the foot. On March 15, 2021, the Berks County Department of Emergency Services received a 911 call from a woman reporting that Stephen James Hughes was threatening her with a knife. Muhlenberg Township police responded to the home on the 700 block of Wagon Wheel Lane. After Hughes ignored verbal commands to drop the weapon, an officer fired a Taser. A second officer then opened fire, striking Hughes once in the chest. He was transported to Reading Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Berks County District Attorney ruled the shooting justified.

On February 19, 2021, Catasauqua Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving Ryan Daniel Shirey and his ex-girlfriend at a residence on the 100 block of South 14th Street. Upon arrival, Shirey fled into the basement and retrieved a revolver. Officers followed him and ordered him to drop the weapon. When Shirey did not comply, Officer Joelle Mota discharged his firearm, fatally striking Shirey. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lehigh County District Attorney later ruled the shooting justified.
