Greenville PD responded to a disturbance call, claim that they found a man who was armed and allegedly pointed a gun at deputies and police "had to" shoot him, killing him.

Bodycam was released later and showed that Beheler never pointed a gun and an officer without any warning fired 13 shots at him from a distance. The sheriff declared the shooting as justified.

Florence County Deputy Treyvon Sellers chased William Rankin by vehicle until Rankin crashed into a tree. Rankin ran into a nearby home. Officer Sellers followed, unleashed his K9 that also ran into the house and attacked the surprised homeowner, 72-year-old Johnny Cooper who was in his home on an oxygen tank, while Deputy Sellers fired 5 shots into the unarmed Rankin seeking refuge in the home.

Officer Sellers was fired the following month, not for this incident but a new domestic violence event instead. He was charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of Rankin. The condition of the homeowner attacked in his home by the police dog is unknown. He had been mauled for 87 seconds in his home. Mr. Cooper is allegedly permanently disfigured from the dog attack.

Deputy Sellers was charged with manslaughter in August of 2024.

On March 20, 2024, Michael P. O’Neal, a 39-year-old man from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was fatally shot by off-duty Summerville Police officer Anthony DeLustro in the parking lot of a Chick-fil-A on North Main Street in Summerville, South Carolina. Witnesses reported that DeLustro was the primary aggressor in a physical altercation that ensued between the two men. During the confrontation, DeLustro claims that he identified himself as a police officer and attempted to arrest O’Neal, displaying his police credentials. As the situation escalated, DeLustro's firearm fell to the ground. O’Neal attempted to leave the scene by returning to his vehicle. DeLustro retrieved his weapon, entered the passenger side of O’Neal’s car, and, as O’Neal began to drive away, DeLustro fired a single shot, striking O’Neal. O’Neal died from his injuries at the scene. DeLustro was subsequently charged with murder and kidnapping. He was later granted bond under strict conditions, including house arrest and GPS monitoring. O'Neal's family described him as a family-oriented individual who was very pro-law enforcement. They believe the altercation may have been avoided if O'Neal had known DeLustro was a police officer. In May of 2025, DeLustro sued the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police), demanding that they provide him with legal representation.

Upon activation of the patrol vehicle's blue lights, the driver, later identified as Tyland Archer, did not stop. As the officer approached the intersection of Harper Gault and Oakdale roads, the Challenger was found wrecked in the wood line. The vehicle had collided with a tree, resulting in significant damage. The passenger, Justin Villanueva, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Tyland Archer was entrapped within the vehicle and was later transported to an area medical center, where he was pronounced dead. Subsequent investigation revealed that the Dodge Challenger had been reported stolen from another jurisdiction. The South Carolina Highway Patrol's Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) was notified to conduct an independent investigation of the wreck. The Rock Hill Police Department's Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team also responded to investigate for internal review.

Somerville PD traffic stopped John Baldwin for a brake light violation. It is unknown what transpired, but he allegedly flew into a rage and rammed the police vehicle with a K9 inside, then fled to a home and locked himself in. Police and SWAT arrived and standoff and sued. Extensive gunfire from a shootout with police as heard on dash cam video. The house quickly interrupted in flames and was totally destroyed. Baldwin was found dead from gunshot wounds inside.
