Edinburgh PD were responding to a call about a man doing "donuts" with his vehicle in an open field. There was another report of a man entered a nearby residence who was highly intoxicated. He locked himself in his vehicle. Accounts by police are conflicting with bystanders stating that Lee Roy Villareal feared coming out of the vehicle because of a large number of officers standing around. When he did come out, he was shot "more than 30 times." Police claimed that it was a "suicide by cop" but family report that this was not true.
