OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On the evening of 10/10/2025, the Baytown Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle (BMW) travelling at a high rate of speed on SH-146 near Alexander Drive. The driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued. The chase crossed into Chambers County where deputies joined. Less than a mile later the fleeing vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle near Crystal Boulevard; the male driver of the fleeing vehicle was ejected and died at the scene, while the occupants of the other vehicle were treated for non‐life‐threatening injuries.

On 01/05/2021, an off duty Austin police officer reported a road incident involving Alexander Gonzales Jr while driving in southeast Austin. According to police accounts, the off duty officer said Gonzales pointed a firearm at him from another vehicle. Uniformed Austin police officers later located Gonzales near 2500 Wickersham Lane. Police said officers gave commands for him to exit his vehicle. Gonzales exited the vehicle and moved toward the rear passenger area, where his young son was seated. An officer then opened fire, shooting and killing Gonzales. Gonzales was pronounced dead at the scene. A Travis County grand jury later declined to indict the officers involved. The City of Austin reinstated the officers after an internal review. Gonzales’s family filed a civil lawsuit, and the city later agreed to a settlement.

On January 5, 2021, at approximately 10:23 a.m., Houston Police Department officers were conducting surveillance on alleged robbers near 16510 North Freeway. Three men arrived at the location in a vehicle. Two of them entered a hotel while the third remained outside. When the two men returned, officers moved in to arrest them. Two of the men attempted to flee on foot, while Jose Guzman allegedly reached for a pistol in his waistband. An officer opened fire, killing Guzman at the scene.
