Dennis Thornton was allegedly intoxicated and throwing things from an overpass. Police arrived, shot him with a taser. Police claim he “resisted” and an unknown number of officers allegedly restrained him in a “wrap.” It is unclear whether this is a BOLO wrap or what type but some type of tying or hog-tying device was applied. He died during arrest. Police blamed his death on intoxication and the fact that he had walked for a long distance on the highway prior to police assault. Snare wraps, tasers and violent arrests are known to kill people commonly. It is unknown what role walking for miles or intoxication had to do with his apparently physically violent death in police custody. Police claim that his body temperature upon death was 108 degrees. Tasers and certain drugs can enhance this scenario but one must consider the apparently considerable physical violence as police and taser as well as police are presenting “excited delirium”, intoxication and heat exposure as cause of death of a man who was subjected to taser electrocution and a violent arrest just prior to death. Excited delirium is not considered to be a valid medical diagnosis by the medical community but this bogus diagnosis is commonly used by police to blame deaths in police custody on.

Family Seeks Justice for Beloved Son Killed in Police Shooting - Preston Graham, a 28-year-old loving father and loyal friend, was tragically killed in a police shooting at his Four Winds apartment complex on Monday night. His family is now seeking answers and justice, alleging inconsistencies by the police department.
According to his mother, Preston was a private person who avoided social media and was protective of his privacy. He had been living in Four Winds apartment complex for two months and was known to be a quiet and respectful neighbor.
However, Preston's ex-girlfriend had a history of harassment and had previously kicked down his door with a friend, prompting Preston to call the police, according to his mother Yvonne Brown. Despite this, no action was taken.
On the night of the shooting, Preston's ex-girlfriend allegedly texted him repeatedly, but he didn't respond as he was with his new girlfriend. Yvonne Brown says someone called the police, claiming he was breaking into his home and was "armed and dangerous". Another narrative Yvonne states she received was that a neighbor called police for a noise disturbance.
Preston's mother claims that the police department has been uncooperative about the events leading up to the shooting. She has been unable to obtain video footage from the scene and alleges that the police are trying to cover up any wrongdoing and even wiped Preston's video off his own security camera.
The family is calling for transparency and accountability, seeking answers about what really happened on that fateful July 22nd night. They want to ensure that Preston's legacy as a loving father and friend is not tarnished by false accusations.

On July 20, 2024, officers A. Luu and T. Huynh of the Houston Police Department responded to an armed disturbance call at a gas station in the 3100 block of South Dairy Ashford. Upon arrival, they encountered a 27-year-old male who had fled on foot and was later found at the intersection of Westheimer and Dairy Ashford. As the individual fled, he dropped a knife from his backpack, picked it up, and continued running toward a nearby cemetery. Officers Luu and Huynh pursued him and gave repeated commands to drop the weapon. The individual allegedly charged at the officers, still holding the knife, and both officers opened fire, striking and killing him. Despite efforts to administer first aid, the male was pronounced deceased at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital. The incident is being investigated by the Houston Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, the Internal Affairs Division, and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
