On February 25, 2021, officers with the Ogden Police Department attempted to stop 28-year-old Dino Raul Morales, who was wanted on multiple felony warrants, including armed robbery and sexual assault. Morales fled in a vehicle, prompting a multi-agency pursuit involving the Weber County Sheriff’s Office and Utah Highway Patrol. The chase continued through several residential streets before Morales lost control of the vehicle near the 800 block of 32nd Street and Adams Avenue in Ogden.
After the crash, Morales exited the vehicle armed with a pistol and pointed it at officers. Police opened fire, striking and killing him at the scene. Another individual in the vehicle, whose identity was not released publicly, was also killed during the exchange of gunfire. No officers were injured.
Court records show Morales had an extensive criminal history, including prior convictions for aggravated robbery, firearm possession by a restricted person, and parole violations. He had recently been released on probation before the fatal incident.

On 02/06/2021, police responded around 8 p.m. to a reported domestic violence incident at a home in Kearns. Dennis Denham was reported to have threatened his 15-year-old grandson with a gun. Shortly after officers arrived, two gunshots were heard from inside the house. Denham’s wife and four grandchildren fled to a neighbor’s home. Denham remained inside and later exited the residence, yelling at officers and firing shots toward them. Police opened fire and killed Denham at the scene. The shooting was later ruled justified by the prosecutor.

On 02/05/2021, Ogden police responded to reports of aggravated robbery, sexual assault, and vehicle theft earlier in the evening. Officers later located the reported stolen vehicle shortly before midnight. During the encounter, the driver exited the vehicle and officers pursued him on foot into a residential area. Police reported locating him in a backyard, where he stood up in the bed of a pickup truck. Officers said he produced a firearm. Two Ogden police officers opened fire and killed Dino Raul Morales at the scene..
