Keishon Thomas was arrested by Milwaukee PD for a warrant and allegedly having narcotics on him. He was taken to jail where after 16 hours, he died suddenly. Police claim not to know cause of death and ordered toxicology. Results are unknown. He had been unarmed.

On 02/13/2022, Racine Police Department officers attempted a traffic stop near 7th Street and Park Avenue. Police reported that John Wesley Brown exited the vehicle during the stop and an encounter followed in the roadway. Officers discharged their firearms, striking and killing Brown at the scene. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation assumed responsibility for investigating the officer-involved shooting.

On 01/26/2022, Milwaukee Police Department officers responded to a call in the 6300 block of West Dixon Street. Officers encountered 23-year-old Johnathon Carl Williamson outside a residence. Officers fired their weapons during the encounter, striking and killing Williamson at the scene. On 12/15/2021, Hobart-Lawrence police officers responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance at an apartment on Centerline Drive after a woman reported that Jeffrey Patnode threatened to kill her and fired a handgun. Officers arrived, secured the complex, and established a perimeter while attempting contact. Police escalated the operation with SWAT support, tactical vehicles, and officers from multiple agencies while conducting a search after determining Patnode had moved into nearby woods. Officers deployed drones and robots during the prolonged containment and located him in the wooded area after several hours. Police then heard a gunshot and found Patnode with a self-inflicted wound; he was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead, ending the roughly ten-hour standoff.

On November 28, 2021, officers from the Madison Police Department responded to a call around 1:45 p.m. regarding a man, about 18 years old, threatening a murder-suicide. Family members were attempting to de-escalate the situation when police arrived. The man, armed with a weapon, retreated to the basement of the home. One officer fired his weapon but did not hit the man, who then proceeded to shoot and kill himself.

On 11/07/2021, a driver was killed after a high speed police pursuit that began in Milwaukee and continued north into Glendale. Milwaukee police chased the vehicle before it crashed on Port Washington Road near Hampton Avenue. The driver died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. On October 8, 2021, deputies from the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on Lance Richard Stelzer, who was riding a moped in Goetz, Wisconsin. On 10/08/2021, police responded to a report of a man acting strange and standing on a vehicle in the 900 block of Harlem Street in Altoona, Wisconsin. Officers from the Altoona Police Department, the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office, and the Eau Claire Police Department encountered Demetrio Jackson, who was found to be resisting arrest and running from police. Officers deployed a Taser multiple times and restrained Jackson in a prone position. Jackson complained that he could not breathe during the restraint. Emergency medical personnel were summoned, provided care, and injected Jackson with a sedative before transporting him to a hospital. Jackson remained minimally responsive and died at a hospital approximately two weeks later.

On October 6, 2021, U.S. Marshals attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Cody James Herman, who was wanted for charges including aggravated assault and weapons violations. As officers approached the home, they were fired upon, resulting in one agent being shot and wounded. Officers fell back, and negotiations began. Several children and adults exited the residence, and after continued negotiations, police entered the home and found Herman dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On September 16, 2021, Eric Keesen, who had arrest warrants for unspecified felony crimes in Barron and Washburn counties, was located hiding in an attic space at a motel in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. On September 14, 2021, the Waukesha Fire Department responded to a medical call about Paul J. Bruner, 58, who was having difficulty breathing. Police were attempting to arrest Bruner for domestic abuse as he was under a domestic abuse injunction order. Police said Bruner was uncooperative and refused medical attention. The woman involved in the incident had visible minor injuries. After determining that domestic violence had occurred, officers attempted to arrest Bruner. He allegedly became combative, and officers used a stun gun (electronic control device) and physical force to take him into custody. Bruner later died during the arrest.

On September 8, 2021, a fatal crash occurred on I-94 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during a police pursuit involving the Wisconsin State Patrol. On August 6, 2021, around 12:14 a.m., a Barron County Sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy suspected the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The deputy asked the driver to exit the car for a sobriety test, which the driver complied with. The driver then stated he needed to grab something from his car, but the deputy informed him that he was not allowed to do so. Despite this, the driver drove off, and the deputy initiated a pursuit. After about seven miles, the deputy lost sight of the vehicle and ended the chase. Police later found the vehicle had crashed into a tree in a field driveway. The passenger was killed in the crash, and the driver, who was arrested for his sixth offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, was taken to Barron Hospital with minor injuries. The driver was also arrested for homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and fleeing an officer.

On August 1, 2021, officers attempted to stop Logan Anthony Zappa after noticing that the license plates on his 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix did not match the vehicle. Zappa fled the scene, leading to a five-minute pursuit. The officers reportedly discontinued the chase shortly thereafter. A short time later, St. Croix County sheriff's deputies responded to a crash at the intersection of County Road T and County Road H in Stanton, where Zappa was found seriously injured. Zappa had run a stop sign and collided with a pickup truck, resulting in his death.

On July 13, 2021, John R. McCarthy shot and killed a man who was pumping gas at a gas station. McCarthy later reportedly engaged in a gunfight with an undercover sheriff's deputy at another gas station not far away. After the exchange of gunfire, McCarthy shot himself in the head, ultimately causing his death.

On July 3, 2021, Ashley Slama, 23, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Devan Michael Potter, 22, along with another passenger, Ryen Swiatly, 24. After leaving Bobbers Island Grill around 2 a.m., Potter was stopped by Sauk County Deputy Matthew Tate for a loud exhaust and a tail light issue. When the deputy approached, Potter quickly fled the scene, and the deputy did not pursue. About 10 minutes later, the deputy informed other law enforcement agencies that he had located the vehicle about a mile east of Gillem Road, overturned in a ditch. Slama was killed in the crash. Potter was charged with fleeing an officer resulting in death, homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle, driving without a valid license, and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

On June 22, 2021, Michael Wolski reportedly called 911 on himself in an apparent attempt to attract police attention. Wolski allegedly told dispatchers he had seen someone with a long gun in a New Berlin parking lot. Officer Rick Helm, who was parked nearby, responded to the call. When Helm went to investigate, Wolski allegedly confronted the officer. During the confrontation, Officer Helm shot Wolski, who later died from his injuries about a month after the incident.

On June 15, 2021, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers from the Milwaukee Police Department attempted to stop a stolen Kia Sportage driven by 16-year-old Demonta Lamar Hambright Jr. The driver fled the scene, leading to a police pursuit. On May 31, 2021, an Onalaska Police officer observed a motorcycle speeding on Highway 35. The officer attempted to stop the motorcycle at a stop sign, and although the rider initially appeared to comply, the motorcyclist sped off down Oak Avenue at an estimated speed of 100 mph. While notifying dispatch to end the pursuit, the officer witnessed the motorcycle crash into a 2018 Hyundai Tucson. The motorcyclist, identified as 33-year-old Tou Yia Lor, was thrown from the motorcycle and died from the injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Hyundai Tucson was injured.

Officers Brian Jordan, Makayla Wolfe, and Ben Snyder confronted Pofahl, who was armed, and shot and killed him during the encounter.

On March 21, 2021, around 12:15 a.m., deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an argument involving a firearm between a man and a woman at a home in Taycheedah. Deputies interviewed the woman and later stopped a vehicle that left the scene. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies found the man hiding in the trunk. When confronted, the man allegedly pulled out a gun. Deputies surrounded the vehicle and attempted to negotiate with the man for several minutes before he shot and killed himself.
