The officer attempted to stop the motorcycle at a stop sign, and although the rider initially appeared to comply, the motorcyclist sped off down Oak Avenue at an estimated speed of 100 mph. While notifying dispatch to end the pursuit, the officer witnessed the motorcycle crash into a 2018 Hyundai Tucson. The motorcyclist, identified as 33-year-old Tou Yia Lor, was thrown from the motorcycle and died from the injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Hyundai Tucson was injured.

Upon arrival, officers heard gunshots and saw Roberto Zielinski armed on the front porch. Zielinski fled to the rear porch and continued to fire shots. Pofahl, a former restaurant employee, allegedly approached a waiter station and shot and killed 32-year-old Ian J. Simpson and 35-year-old Jacob T. Bartel. Pofahl then left the restaurant and shot and wounded 28-year-old Dan Mulligan. Green Bay police officers encountered Pofahl near the first floor of the parking ramp east of the Radisson Hotel. Officers Brian Jordan, Makayla Wolfe, and Ben Snyder confronted Pofahl, who was armed, and shot and killed him during the encounter.

Deputies interviewed the woman and later stopped a vehicle that left the scene. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies found the man hiding in the trunk. When confronted, the man allegedly pulled out a gun. Deputies surrounded the vehicle and attempted to negotiate with the man for several minutes before he shot and killed himself.

On January 22, 2021, around 9:06 a.m., deputies from the Racine County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check request for a residence in the Village of Rochester. The request came from a family member who lived outside of Wisconsin. The home was shared by 30-year-old Matthew T. Vinz and his parents, Terrence G. Vinz, 65, and Debra A. Meagher, 62. Deputies entered the home and began searching for the occupants. Moments later, a gunshot was heard near the deputies. Upon investigation, Matthew Vinz was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The bodies of his parents were later found in the garage.
