On March 24, 2021, U.S. Marshals and other law enforcement officers arrived at a residence in the 1700 block of Regent Avenue NE in Canton, Ohio, to apprehend 33-year-old Aaron Pierre Thomas, who was wanted for armed robbery and aggravated assault in Danville, Virginia.

Thomas allegedly attempted to escape through a window before exiting the front door and opening fire on the officers. During the exchange, a U.S. Marshal was injured. Officers opened fire, striking Thomas. Both the injured officer and Thomas were transported to a nearby hospital. The officer was treated and released, while Thomas remained hospitalized in critical condition.

The incident was investigated by the Stark County Prosecutor's Office, which presented the case to a grand jury. The grand jury declined to indict the officers involved. Approximately six months later, Thomas died from his injuries sustained during the shooting.

On March 24, 2021, U.S. Marshals and Phoenix Police officers responded to a call regarding a man who had fled a Home Depot after allegedly stealing tools. A witness followed the individual, and a collision occurred as the vehicle continued to flee. U.S. Marshals and local officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the man drove erratically and headed westbound on U.S. 60, entering Phoenix. After a brief pursuit, the vehicle stopped near 24th Street and Jefferson Street. When officers attempted to approach, the individual allegedly moved toward them, and officers shot and killed him.

On March 23, 2021, a fugitive from Georgia was located by the Montana Violent Offenders Task Force. When officers attempted to stop his vehicle near Laurel, he continued driving, leading to a 35-mile chase on Interstate 90. Near mile marker 399 in Stillwater County, the man exited his vehicle and allegedly brandished a firearm. Two deputy U.S. marshals opened fire, killing him at the scene.

The chase involved U.S. Marshals and the Stillwater County Sheriff's Office. Cook eventually stopped his vehicle around 11 a.m. near mile marker 399, leading to the closure of the westbound lanes. After exiting his vehicle, Cook reportedly walked away, turned towards law enforcement, and brandished a gun. Despite commands to surrender, he was shot and killed by two deputies.

On March 23, 2021, U.S. Marshals attempted to arrest 32-year-old Frankie Jennings at a gas station in Charlotte, North Carolina. Jennings was wanted on multiple warrants, including assault with a deadly weapon against law enforcement and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. During the attempted arrest, Jennings reportedly reached for a firearm inside his vehicle. Senior Inspector Eric Tillman fired three shots, fatally wounding Jennings. On March 5, 2021, U.S. Marshals attempted to arrest 44-year-old Justin Lynn at the Comfort Inn in Odessa, Texas, for a federal bond violation related to methamphetamine distribution. US marshals and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol attempted to arrest Michael Richard Stambaugh, 39, who locked himself inside a residence on Houser Street. U.S. Marshal's Office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol, responded to the scene. Stambaugh exited the home holding a firearm. Officers opened fire, killing him.

On 02/13/2021, at approximately 10 p.m., U.S. Marshals were involved in a vehicle pursuit of a wanted individual in Pocatello. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed near North 6th Avenue and East Sublette Street. Two men exited the vehicle. Police reported that Brandon Steklein exchanged gunfire with deputy U.S. marshals, and marshals opened fire, killing him at the scene. The second individual fled but later surrendered to police without further incident.

On 02/04/2021, officers were searching for Dontae Green after he allegedly shot at officers at a grocery store in North Baltimore due to a dispute over his paycheck. Green was wanted on 19 charges, including attempted murder, armed robbery, and handgun violations. While police were clearing a residence associated with Green in the 1400 block of N. Mount Street, he allegedly fired at them from inside a closet. Officers returned fire, resulting in Green's death. During the incident, one deputy U.S. Marshal was seriously injured.
