Two weeks prior to the incident, he was assessed by the Aspire Mobile Response Unit and briefly hospitalized. Neighbors reported ongoing disturbances involving Seckington, including stalking and trespassing. A restraining order against him had been approved just minutes before the fatal encounter.

Boyd D. Phillips, 47, attempted to rob a credit union in Ozark on February 5, 2024. After the failed robbery, he was tracked by police, leading to a vehicle pursuit. Phillips eventually fled into a residence on Hub Street and barricaded himself inside. ALEA SWAT, alongside local law enforcement, responded to the scene. During the standoff, officers fired shots, striking Phillips, who was later pronounced dead. No officers were injured during the incident. The investigation into the event is being handled by the Dale County District Attorney’s Office.
