While on I-64 near Jefferson Avenue, the driver lost control of the car and hit a jersey barrier, sending the car across all travel lanes and into another jersey barrier on the left side, endangering all traffic.TilekQuailil Alston, 21, was killed in the police chase. During the traffic stop, Nicholas L. Ciccarelli, 45, exited the driver side of the vehicle and allegedly approached police with a firearm. Officer Tyson Kahlfrom the Menomonie PP, Lt. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department shot Christopher Dearman to death at the intersection of Cesar Chavez Parkway and Logan Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Friday after officers had attempted to pull over a red Dodge Ram truck for a lighting equipment failure but he sped away.Police allege that Dearman stopped 2 blocks later on Logan Avenue, got out of the truck with a handgun and fired "approximately two rounds" toward officers, hitting the SDPD patrol vehicle's hood.
San Diego PD fired back at Dearman, and as he fell to the ground, police then sent a K9 to drag him away in his injured state, stating that he had a gun near him and “did not comply.” It is unknown to what degree he was still able to comply as he died shortly thereafter when taken to the hospital.No officers were charged.

According to the mother, Houston PD took a long time to get in SWAT gear and during the time lapse, he took his daughter for a drive and was soon chased in a wild pursuit. When he stopped, the toddler had severe head trauma and died. He allegedly called the girl’s mother on FaceTime and showed her that the girl was being beaten and strangled during the pursuit. The mother states that the police response destabilized an already unstable individual and resulted in the death of a toddler. He was charged with murder. No officers were charged.

Waters said task force officers pulled over Tyliko Maduro, 32, on the Westside at Interstate 295 and 103rd Street for a traffic violation but were apparently pursuing him due to a previous police encounter.
During the prior traffic stop that started the targeting of Maduro, Maduro had allegedly admitted running a red light. Bodycam footage shown at the news briefing showed officers talking to the man and then asking to search the vehicle. It is not clear why police wanted to search a vehicle when the stated offense was running a red light. Maduro drove off during the traffic stop and police went to a home on Ridgeview Avenue near Morse Avenue to “conduct a door knock.” Officers made contact with Maduro’s mother, who agreed to open the door.
Officers claim they did not have their guns drawn but that one officer had a taser out. When the mother opened the door, Maduro allegedly fired shots at police.
SWAT arrived and Maduro continued to fire several shots and then allegedly committed suicide under police duress. Maduro had no prior record of criminal convictions before this incident.No officers were charged.

While investigating a burglary in which a smartwatch was stolen, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, police tracked the watch to Leon Burroughs and found him asleep in a car on Hardee Street.
Jacksonville deputies allegedly saw a gun on the hood of the car and moved it to the back. They then tried to get Leon Burroughs out of the car. In the video, Leon Burroughs can be heard responding, asking them to move the flashlights, and one officer does. “He had just woke up. He didn’t have time to get no gun. He just woke up, and they had the lights flashing, and he said, ‘What’s going on?’ And they shot him,” his grandmother said. Burroughs was shot and killed. His grandmother doesn’t believe this shooting was justified. No officers were charged.

Police deny this and claim that officers did not chase the vehicle. “Our officer did attempt to stop the Hyundai,” said St. Louis County spokesperson Sgt. Tracy Panus. “However, all efforts were immediately terminated when the driver failed to stop. There was no pursuit,” police stated in direct contrast to what eyewitnesses had reported seeing. Tortugita was camping in Weelaunee Forest, the contested site outside of Atlanta where the large“Cop City” training facility is being built. On 01/18/2023, a militarized response by Atlanta police and SWAT arrived and executed Tortugita in his tent. An officer was shot in the abdomen and Tortugita was blamed for firing shots which eyewitnesses vehemently denied. When a BWC video was released later, an officer is overheard commenting that the officer who was shot was likely shot by police friendly fire, not Tortugita as had been claimed by police. Additionally, private autopsy conducted by the family revealed that Tortugita had been shot through both hands as he held them up defensively, speaking against the police claim that he was holding and firing a gun when shot.No officers were charged. The police investigation has been unforthcoming in transparency and accountability.

On Jan. 18, police responded to the 4700 block of North Locust Street just before 2 a.m. in reference to a disturbance with a weapon. When officers arrived, they said they found Smith locked in his home with a weapon.
Officials with the NLRPD and Special Operations Units set a perimeter around the home. Police said that Smith then fired shots from inside the home and tried to leave his home, pointing a firearm at officers. This caused one NLRPD officer to fire their gun at Smith with Smith retreating back inside the house.
NLRPD SWAT Team then entered the home and found Smith dead. NLRPD officials said that it is unknown if Smith was killed by police or if was self-inflicted.No officers were charged.

An off-duty officer allegedly broke up a fight between Smith and 3 others, claiming that Smith attempted to rob her. After a struggle, the officer shot Smith. Two shots were heard at which point Smith can be heard saying: 'You got me, you got me.'
As she screamed for neighbors to call 911, the officer shouts at Smith: 'I told your dumb ass, I'd kill you.' She then fires a third and final targeted kill shot, killing the injured unarmed man deliberately.No officers were charged.

Sonny Vincent, 36, was killed after officers with St. Charles County’s Multi-Jurisdictional Auto Theft Task Force tried to stop the car Vincent was in in the area of I-70 and Hwy 79 late Tuesday night because it was reported stolen in St. Louis County.
Police said they then used spike strips near Hwy 70 and Hwy Z in an attempt to stop the vehicle and Vincent continued westbound on Hwy 70 until the car left the roadway and came to a stop.
Two people got out of the car and according to the St. Charles Multi-Jurisdictional Auto Theft Task Force and claimed that Vincent pointed a gun in the direction of officers as he crossed West Pearce Blvd. Two task force shooters fired shots, killing Vincent. No officers were charged.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday, the San Diego PD received a report of a violent dispute at a pharmacy in the 5500 block of Reservoir Drive east of San Diego State University. After forcing entry, they found 66-year-old Mary Ellen Carter of Lakeside suffering from stab wounds to her upper body. She died shortly thereafter. Investigators identified Brower, a work colleague of Carter's assailant and then went to his home on La Cresta Boulevard, located him and they allege he may have reached for a shotgun. SDPD Officers Salvador Laurel-Torres and Robert Raynor opened fire with their service firearms, killing Brower. No officers were charged.
