On 10/10/2025, around 8:15 p.m., an off-duty Orange County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed 50-year-old Agustin Vazquez Calvillo near Holy Jim Trail and Main Divide Road at Santiago Peak. According to authorities, Calvillo appeared intoxicated and was armed with a firearm. The deputy identified himself as law enforcement and issued multiple commands for Calvillo to raise his hands. When Calvillo reportedly removed his firearm from its holster, the deputy opened fire, killing him. No other individuals were injured. On 10/10/2025, a Vermont State Police trooper attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on Vermont Route 105 near Colton Road in Sheldon. The driver continued driving. About two minutes later, the trooper came upon a crash where the vehicle had crossed the center line and collided head-on with a pickup truck. The driver, 18-year-old Aryanna Flemming, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was hospitalized with serious injuries.

On 10/10/2025, at approximately 4:25 p.m., several Greeley Police officers attempted to apprehend a man wanted on misdemeanor and felony charges in the 600 block of 27th Street Road in Garden City, Colorado. He fled on foot, and officers pursued him. Police fired less-lethal impact rounds, but the man did not surrender. According to investigators, the man then turned and had a firearm, and officers opened fire. He was transported to a hospital and later pronounced dead. The 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team is investigating.

On 10/09/2025, a joint fugitive task force involving D.C. Police and the U.S. Marshals Service attempted to serve an arrest warrant for 45-year-old Marco Moore, wanted for the murder of 33-year-old Maurisha Singletary in a domestic violence case.
