On November 9, 2021, at approximately 7:00 a.m., an off-duty Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD) officer conducted a welfare check on a single-car crash on I-25 north. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Dagoberto Jimenez, exited the vehicle, threatened the officer with a knife, and carjacked the officer's personal vehicle. The officer reported the incident, and LCPD officers located Jimenez near the intersection of Amador Ave. and Solano Drive. Jimenez fled the scene, driving off the road near S. Esperanza St. and Amador Ave., crashing through a fence, and entering the Mesilla Valley Leadership Academy property. SWAT and negotiators were called in to make contact with Jimenez. During the standoff, a single gunshot was heard, and Jimenez was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No officers were injured during the incident. The investigation was conducted by the Las Cruces Police Department.

On 11/08/2021, around 3: 45 p.m., an employee of Pita Way Mediterranean Grill was reported to have brought a gun to the restaurant located at 6331 S Saginaw St in Grand Blanc but did not enter the establishment. Instead, the person barricaded themselves inside their vehicle. Officers from the Grand Blanc Township Police Department and Michigan State Police responded to the scene. During the ensuing standoff, the individual shot and killed themselves.

On November 7, 2021, Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to 61 Ridge Road in Union Township, Pennsylvania, for a reported violation of a protection-from-abuse order. On 11/07/2021, around 8 p.m., a trooper from the Massachusetts State Police observed a 2020 Nissan Altima, allegedly driven by 22-year-old Nicholas Snyder, speeding past a work detail on US-1 in Sharon. The trooper initiated a pursuit, which was subsequently called off. However, the Nissan continued at high speed and collided with the rear of a Subaru Forester driven by Kevin Joseph Earley at the intersection of US-1 and Old Post Road. After the initial collision, the Nissan struck a Dodge Durango, injuring its driver. Kevin Earley was killed in the crash, while Snyder was injured and later arraigned on charges including motor vehicle homicide.

On November 6, 2021, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Officer Caleb Sherman of the Broken Arrow Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near the 2900 block of E Kenosha Street. Upon stopping, two occupants fled on foot, while the remaining occupant, identified as 31-year-old Corey Gene Batt, opened fire, striking Officer Sherman in the leg. Officer Sherman returned fire as Batt fled into a nearby wooded area. Officer Sherman was transported to a local hospital, treated, and released. Approximately two hours later, officers located Batt deceased in the wooded area near the traffic stop. The investigation suggests that Batt died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On November 5, 2021, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to a Walmart on Albemarle Road in Charlotte, North Carolina, following reports of a man threatening a store security officer with a firearm. The individual, identified as 33-year-old Derrell Lamar Raney, brandished a gun and refused commands to disarm.
Officers located Raney in the parking lot and repeatedly instructed him to drop his weapon. Body camera footage shows Raney pointing the firearm in the officers' direction. Officers James Longworth and Micah Edmunds, perceiving a lethal threat, opened fire, striking Raney. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers or bystanders were injured.
A firearm was recovered from Raney, and CMPD stated that his actions directly endangered public safety. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) conducted a review of the incident, and in April 2022, the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office concluded that the officers' actions were justified.
CMPD released body camera footage of the incident in February 2022, showing the sequence of events leading to the shooting. The officers involved were placed on administrative leave during the investigation, as per standard procedure.

On November 4, 2021, Tulsa Police officers responded to a QuikTrip convenience store at 3050 S. Sheridan Road after receiving a call from the mother of Derek Collins, 36, reporting that he was suicidal and armed with a knife. Upon arrival, officers found Collins inside the store with self-inflicted cuts. Officers convinced him to exit the store into the parking lot, where he grabbed a passing cyclist and held a knife to the cyclist's throat. A Tulsa Police officer opened fire, fatally striking Collins.

On November 4, 2021, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Louisiana State Police fatally shot 36-year-old Barry Rigsby at the Wisner Apartment Complex on Maple Street in Wisner, Louisiana. Rigsby was wanted for questioning in a triple homicide that had occurred earlier that day in Shreveport. Police located Rigsby's abandoned vehicle near the apartment complex. Franklin Parish Sheriff's deputies began evacuating residents. During the evacuation, Rigsby fired shots at the deputies and locked himself inside an apartment. Louisiana State Police, including SWAT and police negotiators, arrived. After a standoff lasting four hours, during which Rigsby continued to fire shots at police and threw a fire extinguisher at them, police shot and killed him.

At approximately 12:52 p.m. on November 3, 2021, LaPorte County deputies initiated a pursuit of a reportedly stolen 2020 Infiniti QX60. The vehicle was traveling at high speeds and avoided stop sticks placed on the roadway. The chase continued into Lake County, where the Infiniti reportedly collided with a Porter County Sheriff's vehicle. The impact caused the driver, 23-year-old John Kennedy Fitzgerald Bolden, to lose control, resulting in the vehicle hitting a median wall and rolling over multiple times. The vehicle came to a stop on the opposite side of the median wall. Bolden and a passenger were ejected from the vehicle. Bolden was killed, and the passenger sustained injuries.

At approximately 1:45 a.m. on November 3, 2021, Kentucky State Police troopers responded to a 911 call at the 800 block of Chipman Ridge Road in Williamstown, Kentucky. Upon arrival, troopers encountered 48-year-old Gary Wayne Bressler Sr., who was reportedly in a mental health crisis. Bressler was holding a decorative samurai sword. Despite commands to drop the weapon, Bressler did not comply, leading to the troopers firing their weapons, fatally wounding him. Police said that Kody Marshall, who had been involved in a prior shooting, was then involved in a major accident on the Crosstown Expressway. Police said he immediately fled the accident. Police later found him near a high school, and he reportedly fired at officers. Police returned fire, killing Marshall.

On November 1, 2021, at approximately 4:11 p.m., the Houma Police Department responded to a disturbance call at Downtown Court and East Main Street in Houma, Louisiana. Upon arrival, the first officer encountered 36-year-old Johnny McGee, who reportedly charged at the officer while holding a screwdriver. The officer issued commands to stop and attempted to create distance; however, McGee continued to advance. A second officer arrived on the scene as McGee allegedly raised his arm with the screwdriver toward one of the officers, prompting an officer to discharge his service weapon. McGee was struck by gunfire and transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Family members later revealed that McGee had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia and was experiencing a mental health crisis at the time of the encounter.

On October 30, 2021, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Cleveland officers received a report that 50-year-old Matthew James Riggs was threatening to harm himself and was armed with a weapon. Officers located Riggs' vehicle in the 1000 block of Cottage Stone Lane and initiated a traffic stop. During the encounter, officers allegedly heard a gunshot. Police open fire killing Riggs. It remains unconfirmed, whether he fired any shots or not. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) conducted an independent investigation into the circumstances leading to the shooting. At approximately 4 a.m. on October 29, 2021, dispatchers received a 911 call reporting individuals in a Jeep SUV threatening to shoot the caller. Terre Haute Police attempted to stop the Jeep, but the driver, 35-year-old Shawn Michael Passwater, allegedly fled. Officers pursued the vehicle until it crashed at S 13th Street and Lockport Street. Passwater was ejected from the SUV and killed. A passenger in the vehicle sustained injuries during the crash.

At about 11 p.m., Montgomery County deputies chased Justin Frostad, who was traveling eastbound on County Road 3875 in a 2007 Kia Optima. Police never disclosed the reason for the pursuit. Frostad lost control of his vehicle after crossing the railroad tracks, veered off the road, and flipped several times. The vehicle came to rest on its roof in a field, where Frostad died from injuries.

The man refused to stop, leading to a chase that ended with him returning to Jackson. On 10/26/2021, Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence near Leroy Center Road and Taylor Road after Scott Wright reportedly told dispatchers he was going to kill someone. Upon arrival, deputies encountered Wright allegedly restraining a 60-year-old woman at gunpoint. Wright released the woman and returned inside the home.

Deputies held the home for the next 4 to 5 hours. They stated that Wright appeared intermittently in the windows and the garage armed with a long gun and a handgun. Around 9 a.m., six hours into the standoff, Wright allegedly began setting fires inside the home. He exited the smoke-filled residence into the backyard with a long gun. Deputies fired beanbags and alleged that Wright raised his rifle. Deputies opened fire, killing him.

Erik Black allegedly stole an 18-wheeler with a flatbed trailer. He fled police and jumped out of the truck as it was still in motion. The truck struck a home. Two people who were in bed inside the residence were struck by the truck. A man was injured, and Aylene "Nicole" Heaney was killed. Black was charged with murder and reckless aggravated assault. The company that owns the truck was able to use a GPS to locate the truck.

A 78-year-old man contacted Mitchell County dispatch to report he had been kidnapped at gunpoint and held for 26 hours by an acquaintance, John Roudybush. When officers tried to serve a search warrant at Roudybush's home, he refused to come out. On October 25, 2021, Oklahoma City Police attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near I-44 and SW 104th Street. The driver, identified as 16-year-old Milton Neal, fled. Police escalated a high-speed pursuit. Police allegedly called off the chase immediately before Neal ran a red light at the intersection of SW 104th Street and S Pennsylvania Avenue, colliding with bystander Sean Donahue's vehicle.
