On 09/08/2025, deputies with the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a motorcycle near Stanhope-Kelloggsville Road and Anderson Road in Dorset. The driver, identified as Jerry Pegram, did not stop. Deputies pursued him, and during the encounter, deputies opened fire, killing him. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is reviewing the case.

On 09/08/2025, Louisiana State Police attempted a traffic stop as part of a narcotics investigation in Houma. On September 8, 2025, at about 8:22 p.m., a Citrus Heights police officer attempted to stop a motorcyclist for vehicle code violations near Antelope Road and Wonder Street. The motorcyclist driving. Police escalated a chase during which he reportedly drove at high speeds, ran red lights and stop signs, turned off his headlights, and drove into oncoming traffic. The chase ended at the intersection of Antelope Road and Mariposa Avenue, where the motorcycle collided with another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured. The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.

Around noon on 09/08/2025, Phoenix officers responded to reports of an armed robbery near 35th Avenue and Fillmore Street. Officers located the reported vehicle and conducted a high-risk stop in a dirt lot at 3500 West Washington Street. On 09/07/2025, around 3 a.m., a man identified as 36-year-old Justin Coleman entered the rear personnel entrance of the NYPD’s 73rd Precinct stationhouse in Brownsville, Brooklyn. A female officer confronted him and directed him to use the front entrance. Coleman pulled a 14-inch butcher knife and slashed the officer in the head and ear. Other officers attempted to subdue him with a Taser, but it was ineffective. Coleman fled the building, and police pursued him on foot. James Rosano, 33, was killed by Nassau County police in Carle Place during a domestic disturbance just after midnight on September 3, 2025. His mother called 911 reporting he was intoxicated and refusing to leave. He was transported to a Warner Robins hospital and later died. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation.

After several hours of attempted negotiation, Meservey exited the home and fired at officers. Police opened fire, striking him. He was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
