Ramiro A. Rosete Jr., wanted for aggravated indecent liberties with a child, was involved in a police pursuit initiated by a Sedgwick County deputy after a traffic stop near Interstate 235 and Central. The pursuit ended when Rosete's vehicle was found unoccupied near Mead and Bayley. Deputies located him at a motel in the 7300 block of East Kellogg Drive North, where he had locked himself in a room and indicated he was armed. After several hours of negotiation, Rosete agreed to surrender but subsequently died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On July 15, 2021, deputies from the Arenac County Sheriff's Office, along with officers from the Michigan State Police and the Saginaw-Chippewa Tribal Police Department, responded to a domestic violence situation at a residence in the 2100 block of Whites Beach Road in Standish Township. Upon arrival, they found that one of the two men involved in the incident was already deceased. The other man, Joshua I. Smith, was inside the house and refused to come out. Officers escalated a standoff. The situation concluded around 3:30 p.m. when Smith shot and killed himself.

A man allegedly driving a stolen pickup truck, was spotted by a deputy. The deputy began a pursuit at approximately 4:30 p.m. The pursuit ended when the truck crashed into another car along FM 1131, killing bystander Laurie Beth Seehusen.

On July 15, 2021, at approximately 1:00 p.m., an Edmonson County deputy observed a stolen motorcycle operated by 34-year-old Kristopher M. Burden of Leitchfield, Kentucky, traveling southbound on Highway 259 North in the Kyrock area. Burden made an unlawful turn, nearly striking another vehicle. The deputy initiated a pursuit, which continued as Burden turned west onto Sunfish Bee Spring Road. He failed to negotiate a curve, exited the roadway, struck a road sign and guardrail, and was ejected from the motorcycle. Burden was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Edmonson County Coroner. The Kentucky State Police investigated the incident.

On July 11, 2021, Shawn Marvin Thomas, 36, was shot and killed by deputies from the San Juan County Sheriff's Office following a pursuit that began on the Navajo Nation. Around 1:25 p.m., police were notified of a man armed with a gun at a Speedway gas station at the intersection of U.S. Highway 64 and U.S. Highway 491. Thomas, reportedly holding a gun, left in a blue Toyota passenger car. Tribal police pursued Thomas eastbound on U.S. Highway 64 until he entered the Sheriff's Office jurisdiction. Deputies deployed stop sticks, deflating two tires, and Thomas's vehicle stopped in the westbound lanes near mile markers 33 and 34. Deputies approached the vehicle, and for reasons not specified, one deputy shot and killed Thomas.

On 07/10/2021, at approximately 6: 21 p.m., a Michigan State Police trooper responded to reports of a man, identified as Randy Jenkins Jr., walking in the vicinity of W Brewer Road& S Morrice Road in Bennington Township, exhibiting strange behavior. Upon encountering Jenkins, the trooper attempted to use a Taser to subdue him after he became combative, but it had no effect. Jenkins allegedly then produced a firearm and began shooting. Markell J. Nevels, a 19-year-old Black male, died by suicide on July 9, 2021, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Police responded to the Campus Crossings Apartments around 10:40 a.m. after a report of a stolen vehicle. The owner of the white Lexus told police that Nevels was looking through the glove compartment and then pointed a handgun at him before fleeing in the car. The pursuit ended in front of the Regal Inn when Nevels allegedly rammed three Murfreesboro Police Department vehicles, a Rutherford County SUV, and a citizen's car. Nevels then fatally shot himself.

Wichita police officers were made aware of a man experiencing mental health issues and suicidal thoughts. The man had reportedly threatened his neighbors and pointed a gun at individuals in a Wichita business. In the evening, officers pursued the man through several areas of west Wichita. His vehicle veered off the road at 55th Street South and South Meridian Avenue and entered a wheat field. The speed of the vehicle and heat from the engine sparked a fire in the dry grass, engulfing the car in flames. The man died from burns and smoke inhalation.

Dorris "DJ" Acree, a 23-year-old Black male, died by suicide on July 8, 2021, in Clarksville, Tennessee. Around 6 a.m., officers with the Clarksville Police Department attempted to serve a narcotics search warrant at an apartment on Cobalt Drive. An hours-long standoff ensued, during which officers tried to negotiate with Acree. Following the standoff, Acree was found deceased inside the apartment from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On July 8, 2021, Shannon M. Wilcox, aged 53, was involved in an armed disturbance in Presque Isle, Maine. During the standoff, police alleged that Wilcox threatened them with a firearm. Sergeant Matthew Cummings of the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office opened fire, killing Wilcox. On July 8, 2021, at around 10:30 p.m., officers from the City of New York Police Department responded to reports of gunshots near Halsey Street and Wilson Avenue in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn. Upon arrival, the officers approached a group of people outside a liquor store and discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds.
The officers were informed that an armed man had fled on foot, heading westbound on Wilson Avenue. They pursued him and activated their body-worn cameras. The officers proceeded halfway down the block and located a man crouched on the sidewalk, holding a firearm in his left hand.

On July 7, 2021, deputies from the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic violence incident at No. 1 Entrada Capulin in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Edward Daniel Santana, 45, allegedly stabbed his mother, Delia Cervantes, 67, multiple times. Deputies found Santana standing on a patio holding a fence post. He reportedly walked toward them "in an aggressive manner" and ignored commands to stop. One deputy deployed a Taser, but another deputy shot and killed Santana.

Around 9 a.m., police reported a blue Charger speeding eastbound on Stan Schlueter Loop near Lions Park. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, they reportedly lost sight of it. Moments later, another officer spotted it on Trimmier Street and initiated a new pursuit. After turning onto Elms Road, the Charger collided with a silver SUV, killing its driver.

On 07/06/2021, Anne Arundel County police officers responded to a call at 1448 Stoney Point Way in Curtis Bay, Maryland, following a protective order hearing. Earlier, a protective order against Baltimore Police Officer Eric Banks Jr. was denied on June 25, but a second petition was granted at 3 p.m. on the same day. Officers found Dasan "DJ" Jones unresponsive in a hole in the wall with a white cover leaning on it, located upstairs in a loft area of the residence. DJ was discovered to have been strangled. Officer Eric Banks Jr., who was DJ's stepfather, was charged with second-degree murder, attempted disarming of a police officer, and child abuse resulting in death after the incident.

On 07/05/2021, the Le Center Police Department and Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office responded to a call after a woman reported she was assaulted and strangled by Michael Lee Elie. A standoff started around 9: 20 p.m. Two children, ages 12 and 4, were still hiding in the house. Police talked to Elie on the phone, but he refused to come outside. They convinced him to let the children leave the home. Officers breached the home at around 7: 15 a.m. and found Elie dead with a self-inflicted gunshot.

On July 5th, 2021, at approximately 11:08 a.m., San Antonio Police responded to a report of shots fired at 234 Noria, where a man with two guns reportedly shot at a reporter and cameraman. Officers later located Eduardo Mendez Amezquita at 322 Noria, where he had forced his way into an occupied home and threatened to kill the occupants while physically assaulting one of them. Negotiators spent four hours attempting to communicate with Amezquita, who threatened to burn down the house. At approximately 3 p.m., Amezquita exited the home, armed with a pistol, and was shot and killed by five officers around 3:17 p.m.

On July 4, 2021, at approximately 1:09 p.m., a Sampson County Sheriff's Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a black Mazda 3000 pickup truck at the intersection of Laurel Lake Road and Lakewood School Road in Salemburg, North Carolina. Craig Locklear, 49, was observed in the bed of the truck. As the deputy approached, Locklear raised himself up and pulled a firearm from his pants pocket. Despite repeated commands from the deputy and pleas from two of Locklear’s family members to drop the weapon, Locklear refused and stated he was not going to jail.

Locklear then pointed the firearm, identified as a Forjas Taurus SA .357 Magnum revolver with six live rounds, at the deputy. In response, the deputy discharged their weapon, fatally striking Locklear. There was no evidence that Locklear fired his weapon. The incident was reviewed by the district attorney, who determined that the deputy’s actions were justified under the circumstances.

Officers with the Glasgow Police Department responded to a domestic violence call. Upon the officers' arrival, Joshua Shane Hartigan fled on a motorcycle. Officers escalated a chase as Hartigan traveled toward Scottsville Road. Hartigan lost control and went off the roadway, crashing and killing himself. The Kentucky State Police conducted the investigation.

On July 4, 2021, at approximately 11 p.m., deputies from the Portage County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on 7334 Bennington Pike in Ravenna, Ohio. A woman and her two children had fled the home to seek safety at a neighbor’s house, reporting concerns of physical harm from her husband, 36-year-old Matthew J. Morse.

On 07/04/2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m., three Newton Police Department officers responded to a 911 call at a home on Clive Place in Newton, New Jersey. During an encounter outside the home, two officers shot and killed Gulia Dale III, 61. Police reported that a semi-automatic handgun was recovered at the scene. At about 9 p.m., Pantego Police attempted to pull over a vehicle for a minor violation, but the driver fled. The officer pursued the vehicle with lights and sirens for 32 seconds before losing sight of it. The officer terminated the chase, but the pursued vehicle continued, running several red lights and speeding over 100 mph. The car slammed into Douglas Osiemo's vehicle at the intersection of West Arkansas and Cooper Street, pushing his car under a box truck. Osiemo was killed, and the driver of the pursued vehicle fled on foot. Osiemo was working for a food delivery service at the time.

On July 2, 2021, at approximately 11:40 p.m., Wilkes County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a residence on Traphill Ridge Road to serve a warrant for 37-year-old Thomas Charlie Billings, a suspect in the stabbing death of 31-year-old Tracy Renee Rash earlier that day in Caldwell County. Deputies encountered Billings standing outside the residence armed with a rifle. Despite repeated commands to drop the weapon, Billings refused to comply. Lisa Ann Short, a 54-year-old White female, was shot and killed by officers from the Kingsport Police Department on July 1, 2021, in Kingsport, Tennessee. Officers responded to a call from a resident at the Westside Inn around 5:20 a.m. The caller reported that a woman with a gun was banging on his door. Upon arrival, officers encountered Short, who was reportedly armed with a gun. Police stated that she failed to comply with orders to drop the weapon, and officers shot and killed her.

On July 1, 2021, officers from the Cleveland Division of Police were in the area of East 93rd Street and Dickens Avenue when they encountered a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Richard Gaines. Gaines reportedly rammed police vehicles and drove away from the area.
Officers pursued Gaines until his vehicle struck a pole and flipped near East 111th Street and Forest Avenue. After the crash, police reported hearing a gunshot from inside the vehicle. Gaines was found dead in the vehicle from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On June 30, 2021, Tulsa Police officers patrolling near East 31st Street and South Memorial Drive observed three individuals outside a motel. Upon noticing the officers, two of the individuals, including 44-year-old Emmitt R. Weaver, ran away on foot. Officers chased Weaver approximately 400 feet before he stopped, appearing to experience respiratory distress and using an inhaler. Weaver requested medical assistance; officers called for an ambulance. Shortly thereafter, Weaver collapsed. Weaver was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
