On 03/31/2021, police responded to a home at 247 Sullivan Street in Claremont, New Hampshire, following reports of gunshots being fired. Jeffrey Ely had barricaded himself inside the residence. After an extended standoff, gunfire was exchanged between Ely and New Hampshire State Police. Troopers Nicholas Cyr, Stefan Czyzowski, Gary Ingham, Shane Larkin, William Neilsen, and Noah Sanctuary fired at Ely, who was subsequently killed. Officer Noah Sanctuary had been involved in a previous shooting incident in February of 2022. Sergeant Stefan Czyzowski and again Sergeant Noah Sanctuary were among six troopers who fired their weapons during a standoff in Plymouth, where Kevin Steinfeldt, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound under police duress.

Shortly after 10 p.m. on March 31, 2021, gunshots were reported to the police. Approximately 25 minutes later, officers located a pickup truck and attempted a traffic stop. The driver did not stop, leading officers on a pursuit that ended in a dead-end parking lot near Southeast 122nd Avenue and Mill Street. Police initiated a standoff, during which a shot was heard from within the vehicle. Officers deployed gas into the truck, after which the man died by suicide.

Upon arrival, officers encountered 30-year-old Billy Ray Hill, who reportedly fled on foot but was apprehended by police after a brief chase. Details of the arrest are unknown. After the arrest, Hill became unconscious and died shortly thereafter.

The Louisiana State Police conducted an investigation into the incident. The Bossier Parish Coroner's Office performed an autopsy, which indicated no external or internal injuries or diseases. Nathaly Medina, 19, was a passenger in a car that Tulsa police attempted to stop for reckless driving. The driver, Jose Lara-Garcia, did not stop, leading officers to initiate a pursuit. On 03/29/2021, at approximately 3:50 a.m., LAPD officers attempted to stop Matthew Blaylock near 7th and Bixel Streets. Blaylock fled on foot, and officers escalated a chase that ended near 8th and Bixel Streets, where Blaylock allegedly produced a handgun. Officers opened fire, killing him. A handgun was recovered at the scene. Body camera footage of the incident has been released and is under review. The LAPD's Force Investigation Division is investigating the shooting, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office will review the case.

On March 29, 2021, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Deputy Justin Conley of the Fleming County Sheriff's Office observed a vehicle on Kentucky Route 11 near Maysville, Kentucky, with a male driver and a female passenger who appeared to be involved in a physical altercation. Deputy Conley attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver, 48-year-old Terry Darnell Jackson, exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area. During a physical struggle, Deputy Conley opened fire, killing Jackson. Jackson was airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Deputy Conley was treated for minor injuries at Meadowview Regional Medical Center and was subsequently placed on administrative leave, per department policy.

On March 29, 2021, Springfield Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at the Bass Pro call center on East Kearney Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 33-year-old Troy Rapp deceased from gunshot wounds. Witnesses identified 28-year-old Joshua A. Anderson as the shooter. On March 27, 2021, at the Oklahoma County Jail located at 201 North Shartel Avenue in Oklahoma City, inmate Curtis Montrell Williams, aged 34, took a detention officer hostage on the 10th floor. On 03/26/2021, around 6: 10 a.m., Massachusetts State Police responded to a robbery at a 7-Eleven located at 30 Liberty St. in Quincy. Surveillance footage showed a man, identified as Eric Michael Leach, looking through the store's windows before entering six minutes later, allegedly robbing the store with a handgun and escaping with approximately $330. A customer provided a description of Leach to the police. Officers began a search and cornered Leach against a fence in a residential area. Leach reportedly did not comply with police commands, and an attempt to use a Taser was unsuccessful. A foot chase ensued, during which Leach entered a police cruiser, started it, and drove towards officers, who dodged out of the way. He fled, hitting several police vehicles during the pursuit. The chase ended at Burgin Parkway and Route 3 where Leach stopped the cruiser, which was then surrounded by police. After about an hour, Leach managed to move the damaged cruiser but was stopped by stop sticks. During negotiations, Leach was seen with a police patrol rifle and began exiting the vehicle with it, leading to a Massachusetts State Police trooper shooting and killing him.

On March 24, 2021, U.S. Marshals and other law enforcement officers arrived at a residence in the 1700 block of Regent Avenue NE in Canton, Ohio, to apprehend 33-year-old Aaron Pierre Thomas, who was wanted for armed robbery and aggravated assault in Danville, Virginia.

Thomas allegedly attempted to escape through a window before exiting the front door and opening fire on the officers. During the exchange, a U.S. Marshal was injured. Officers opened fire, striking Thomas. Both the injured officer and Thomas were transported to a nearby hospital. On March 23, 2021, according to his fiancée, Frankie Jennings, 32, was pumping gas at a gas station in Charlotte when U.S. Marshals arrived. Jennings was unaware of the officers who were about to confront him. Law enforcement initiated the confrontation, and Jennings allegedly reached for a firearm inside his car. On March 21, 2021, at approximately 7:19 p.m., deputies from the Chaves County Sheriff's Office went to a property on 6400 Shadow Road in Dexter, New Mexico, to serve Sergio Gutierrez Chairez, 31, with two outstanding arrest warrants. Upon arrival, deputies observed Chairez outside the residence but were unable to enter due to a locked gate and fencing.

On March 18, 2021, deputies from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office arrived at 14554 Pecan Road in Keithville, Louisiana, to execute an arrest warrant for an individual other than William "Billy" Walls, a 68-year-old male. Walls, a neighbor, permitted deputies to search his mobile home. During the search, Walls became agitated and attempted to re-enter his residence. For officer safety, he was detained and placed in the back of a patrol car. While in custody, Walls experienced a medical emergency. Deputies removed him from the vehicle and initiated CPR until emergency medical services arrived. Walls was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Deputy Ryan Chapman was later indicted on charges of malfeasance in office in connection with Walls' death. The indictment alleges that Chapman handcuffed Walls without reasonable suspicion of a crime, leading to his asphyxiation. Malfeasance in office is a felony that carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

On March 18, 2021, at approximately 11:00 a.m., deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a traffic violation in Sulphur, Louisiana. The driver, 51-year-old Shawn Mark Babineaux, did not stop. Police escalated a chase exceeding 100 miles per hour and allegedly "called off the chase" immediately before the crash.

On 03/18/2021, officers from the Bloomington Police Department responded around 6: 15 p.m. to a report of a man walking with a gun. They found Anton Lamont Burnes firing a handgun from a pedestrian bridge. A Bloomington officer fired his service weapon at Burnes, but it was not immediately clear whether he was struck by the gunfire. Burnes continued shooting his handgun from the bridge for the next 10 minutes, but police did not return fire. Burnes eventually climbed outside the bridge's safety fencing and shot himself, falling onto I-494 below and dying.

The pursuit was terminated at the border of Royal Oak. Royal Oak Police Department officers then spotted the same vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the driver, SouhibZokari, did not stop. Police continued to chase west on 11 Mile Road with speeds exceeding 90 mph untilZokari lost control of his car and crashed into a light pole on the side, killing him.
