On 03/10/2021, deputies from the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a Jeep Grand Cherokee near Coushatta, Louisiana, due to the vehicle having no taillights. The driver, Michael Laduca, failed to stop, leading to a police pursuit into Red River Parish.

Officers from the Red River Parish and DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Offices chased after Laduca, who drove through a barbed-wire fence and became stuck in a ditch. Laduca fled on foot into a field and hid behind a tree. Deputies allege that Laduca "reached for his waistband." Deputies opened fire and killed him. Police claimed that a handgun was found in his possession but did not state that he pointed or used it.

On March 10, 2021, Rochester Police Department officers responded to a report of a man with a knife at the Open Door Mission on 210 W Main Street in Rochester, New York, around 3 a.m. Tyshon Jones, 29, had reportedly taken a knife from the Samaritan House and walked away. When officers confronted him, Jones was reportedly cutting himself with the knife and refused commands to drop it. Officers stated that Jones threatened to kill them and ignored attempts to subdue him with a Taser. As he advanced toward officers, one officer fired, fatally shooting him.

On March 10, 2021, at approximately 8:21 p.m., Mansfield police responded to a report of three men fighting on Sycamore Street, with concerns that a woman was being held against her will. En route, officers learned that a man had been struck in the face with a tire iron, and the man had fled in a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Officers located the vehicle on Bowman Street, traveling north at high speed. The driver, later identified as Randy Heater, 37, refused to stop and reportedly rammed a police cruiser during the pursuit. The chase continued through rural Richland County, with speeds reaching up to 100 mph. Near Plymouth Springmill Road and Bistline Road, Heater failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to veer off the road, strike a guardrail, overturn, and eject him. Heater, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Donald White, 44, broke into a residence at 48 Knapp Street in Livermore Falls, Maine, and held three individuals hostage, including his ex-girlfriend, her father, and her new boyfriend. White restrained them with zip ties and threatened them with firearms. During the standoff, he also planted multiple explosive devices in the home.

One of the hostages managed to escape and alerted police. A coordinated response from local, state, and federal law enforcement ensued, involving the Livermore Falls Police Department, Maine State Police, Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office, and the FBI. The remaining two hostages were released, but the standoff continued for 17 hours. It ended when police forcibly entered the home, finding White dead.

An autopsy revealed that White died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He also sustained non-lethal gunshot wounds from state troopers during the incident.

Around 7 p.m., Jim Wright's family member reported to the Meade County Sheriff's Office that they were concerned about his welfare. Deputies located Wright near the Clark County and Meade County line. Wright fled in his SUV, and deputies escalated a chase. Spike strips were deployed, and Wright's SUV hit the spike strips and came to a stop. He got out of his vehicle holding a gun. Around 9:40 p.m., officers from various agencies fired shots and killed him.

On 03/08/2021, at approximately 5:20 a.m., Burbank Police Department officers responded to a report of a young child wandering alone in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Burbank Airport, located at 2255 N Buena Vista Street. Officers found a 7-year-old boy sitting on a curb, who stated he was waiting for his stepfather, identified as 30-year-old David William Kahler of Las Vegas.

Investigations revealed that Kahler and the child had been involved in a car accident on the 5 Freeway in a vehicle suspected of being stolen from Las Vegas. After leaving the accident scene, they proceeded to the hotel parking lot. Surveillance footage showed Kahler attempting to enter vehicles that did not belong to him. He later arrived at the hotel in a maroon Honda Accord, also reported stolen from the 2200 block of North Frederic Street.

As officers spoke with the child, Kahler drove up to the hotel. Body camera footage shows the child running to the vehicle and getting inside. Kahler allegedly drew a weapon and pointed it at one of the officers. The officer fired three shots, striking Kahler. The child was unharmed and taken into protective custody. A loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun, reported stolen from Las Vegas, was recovered at the scene.
Kahler was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he succumbed to his injuries. At the time of his death, Kahler was on probation in Nevada and had an extensive criminal history, including burglary while in possession of a firearm, domestic violence, narcotics violations, and theft.

On March 6, 2021, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Valley Brook Police attempted to stop a vehicle on Southeast 59th Street and Shields Boulevard. The driverdid not stop. Police escalated a chase that ended when he crossed shields Boulevard and collided with two other vehicles.

The crash resulted in the death of Derrick Dewayne Alexander, as well as injuries to others. A passenger from one of the other vehicles was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and later died.Lujan was remembered as a kindhearted individual who had taken custody of his 12-year-old brother three years prior.

On 03/05/2021, the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) responded to a report of an armed individual inside the Old No. 77 Hotel at 535 Tchoupitoulas Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. On 03/05/2021, police in Maple Plain attempted to pull a man over for speeding and driving erratically. The man continued driving, passing through multiple jurisdictions before being knocked off the road by a Ramsey County sheriff deputy at North McKnight Road. At approximately 2:30 a.m. on March 5, 2021, a Sedgwick County Sheriff's deputy attempted to stop a motorcyclist, identified as 37-year-old Timothy A. Tatum, for a registration violation near East 47th Street South and Broadview in Wichita, Kansas. Upon activation of the deputy's lights and sirens, Tatum fled eastbound on his Honda Shadow motorcycle. The pursuit lasted about 25 seconds and covered less than a mile. Tatum's motorcycle struck a raised median at the intersection of East 47th Street South and Oliver, resulting in a crash that led to his death at the intersection.

On March 5, 2021, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office identified a stolen vehicle being driven by William Joseph Thomas, 38, in Dayton, Ohio. On 03/03/2021, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the 1300 block of Greene Avenue in Abbeville, Louisiana, for a disturbance call. Police encountered Dwight Brown, 41, and engaged in an altercation. During the fight, police opened fire and killed Brown. The circumstances leading to the fatal shooting have not been disclosed. On 03/01/2021, Chandra Moore, a 55-year-old male, was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by Cincinnati police for the shooting of five people in Cincinnati on February 28, 2021, resulting in the deaths of his wife and two others. After fleeing to Detroit, Moore was located at the Rivertown Inn & Suites. The Detroit Police Department, aware of his location, set up surveillance and waited for him to leave the motel. At approximately 9: 50 a.m., Moore exited the building and approached his car. Upon noticing the police presence, he allegedly opened fire on the officers. In response, the officers returned fire, killing Moore. This incident followed Moore's flight from Cincinnati where he was involved in a mass shooting incident.

After failing to steal one vehicle, they successfully stole another. A Muskogee Police Department officer spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over. Police escalated the situation into a pursuit, which ended in a crash.
Following the crash, Dugan and Rauch fled the scene on foot. During the foot chase, police engaged Rauch in a shootout . He was fatally shot by police. Dugan continued to flee into a wooded area, where he reportedly shot and killed himself as officers closed in. The Muskogee Police Department is investigating the incident.

On 02/27/2021, a deputy from the Wadena County Sheriff's Office pulled over a driver in North Germany Township around 8: 45 p.m. A "struggle" broke out between the deputy and the driver, and then another driver arrived. An officer from the Sebeka Police Department showed up. There was reportedly an exchange of gunfire, and all four people in the struggle were shot. Deputy Troy Mayer and Officer Jason Worm shot and killed brothers Shannon Michael Savela, 36, and David Jay Savela, 42.

On 02/27/2021, a deputy from the Wadena County Sheriff's Office pulled over a driver in North Germany Township around 8: 45 p.m. A "struggle" broke out between the deputy and the driver, and then another driver arrived. An officer from the Sebeka Police Department showed up. There was reportedly an exchange of gunfire, and all four people in the struggle were shot. Deputy Troy Mayer and Officer Jason Worm shot and killed brothers Shannon Michael Savela, 36, and David Jay Savela, 42.

On February 27, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a Kentucky State Police trooper conducted a traffic stop in the community of Malone, Kentucky. During the stop, the trooper requested assistance from the Morgan County Sheriff's Department and the West Liberty Police Department. Jerry Lynn Roseberry, a 48-year-old man, exited the vehicle with a firearm and refused commands to drop the weapon. A West Liberty police officer opened fire, striking Roseberry. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Morgan County Coroner. The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is investigating the shooting.

On 02/26/2021, officers from the Duluth Police Department were called to a residence in response to what they were told was "a physical domestic" incident. The officers were warned that a man wanted on felony warrants was inside and refusing to surrender. A woman also was in the home, but she left when police arrived. Following a lengthy standoff, police shot and killed David Conwell.

On February 26, 2021, Kalispell Police responded to reports of a red SUV ramming multiple vehicles. The vehicle was found unoccupied at a gas station. Isaiah Strong allegedly assaulted Officer Brady Gray inside the gas station after emerging from the bathroom, using a wooden object to strike her. He then attacked another individual in the store before assaulting the officer again, hitting her in the upper body and head. Following this second assault, Officer Gray opened fire, killing Strong, while also shooting and injuring an uninvolved person in the store with police bullets.

On 02/25/2021, around 9: 22 p.m., officers from the Baltimore Police Department's Inner Harbor unit were flagged down in the area of Market and Pratt streets following a non-fatal shooting. One officer provided aid to the victim, while others pursued a suspect who fled into the Harbor Park Garage. On the ramp into the garage, the suspect, identified as Benjamin D. Tyson, allegedly turned around, produced a handgun, and attempted to fire it. Multiple officers then shot and killed Tyson.

On 02/24/2021, a person reported to the Garden City Police Department that they were a victim of domestic violence, having been assaulted with a firearm, and identified Alonte Damar Murphy as the perpetrator. Around 5 p.m., officers observed Murphy arriving in a vehicle at the location near Pardo Street and Merriman Road. According to police reports, Murphy was armed with a semiautomatic handgun and engaged in a shootout with officers. During this exchange of gunfire, Murphy was shot and killed by law enforcement. The incident involved collaboration between the Garden City Police Department and members of a DEA Detroit task force who were assisting in the surveillance and subsequent confrontation. Murphy had several active warrants for his arrest at the time of the encounter. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

On February 23, 2021, around 7:30 p.m., Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputies and Eagle Point Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm in the 100 block of Idlewood Drive in Eagle Point. Before officers arrived, 39-year-old Dale Arthur Amstutz-Dunn left the location in an SUV with another man. Police stopped the vehicle on Stevens Road near Idlewood Drive, in the parking lot of Church on the Hill. Amstutz-Dunn produced a firearm and shot a deputy in the chest; however, the deputy's body armor prevented serious injury. During the ensuing shootout, Amstutz-Dunn diedfrom alleged suicide. A grand jury later found that the officers' use of force was justified.

On 02/21/2021, Michigan State Police troopers responded to a call regarding an armed individual exhibiting irrational behavior in the 9700 block of North Wyman Road, Blancha Road. Andrew Allen Courser was reported to have fired a gun near homes and yelled at passing vehicles. Upon arrival, along with a Home Township police officer, Courser allegedly shot at the officers, who returned fire. Courser then barricaded himself in a barn approximately a quarter of a mile away from the initial scene. After a standoff lasting about four hours, Courser emerged from the barn, pointing a gun at the police. Troopers then shot and killed him. The incident is under investigation by the Michigan State Police.
