On February 13, 2021, Aaron Negash, 28, was stopped in a Hyundai SUV on the shoulder of westbound I-70 facing the wrong direction when an Indiana State Police trooper arrived. As the trooper parked in front of the SUV and exited his squad car, Negash drove forward, veering around the police vehicle. He continued driving about a half-mile in the wrong direction before crashing into a Hyundai Sonata occupied by Jepthah Lal Pan Lian, 34, and a passenger. The collision resulted in the deaths of Negash, Lian, and his passenger.

On February 11, 2021, Pennsylvania State Police responded to a domestic dispute at the Harvest Moon Trailer Park in Woodward Township, where 38-year-old Clifford E. Wilbur Jr. had allegedly assaulted his brother-in-law, Fred Peterson, with a handgun and made threats to kill family members. Wilbur fled the scene before troopers arrived and subsequently committed an armed robbery at a nearby Sheetz convenience store, stealing two 24-ounce cans of beer. Troopers located Wilbur's vehicle and initiated a pursuit toward Williamsport on Route 220. Despite the deployment of spike strips that flattened his tires, Wilbur continued to evade police, eventually crashing his car into a utility pole in the 3500 block of West 4th Street. After the crash, Wilbur brandished a handgun and ignored multiple commands to surrender. Officers attempted non-lethal measures, including firing pepper balls into the vehicle, but Wilbur continued to wave his firearm. In response to the imminent threat, troopers and officers discharged their weapons, fatally striking Wilbur. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lycoming County Coroner. On February 11, 2021, Alexis Leigh Davis-Gooden, 35, was initially stopped by a Menands Police Department officer on Broadway in Menands, New York. After providing her information, the officer returned to his patrol car to run checks through state and federal systems. Before the officer could complete the stop, Davis-Gooden fled the scene in her vehicle, heading toward Watervliet. Shortly thereafter, she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the front gate of the Watervliet Arsenal. Davis-Gooden was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police escalated a pursuit that was described as reckless with excessive speed through heavy traffic and proximity to a school zone. The deputy finally called off the chase near Paradise Lane moments before a South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper spotted the vehicle near East Blackstock Road and Hidden Hill Road and took over the chase. Shortly after, a 911 call reported a break-in at another residence on the same street. Upon arrival, officers heard a disturbance inside and forced entry at approximately 5:30 p.m. They encountered Jordan Walton, 21, who exchanged gunfire with the officers before barricading himself inside, holding a woman and her 10-year-old son hostage. At 6:17 p.m., Walton emerged with the boy, using him as a shield. Officers Ryan Nichols and Jeffrey Hutchison fired, killing Walton.

On February 9, 2021, around 7 p.m., the Upper Perkiomen Police Department responded to a 911 call from a family member reporting that Trey Bartholomew was in a state of agitation and had left the home carrying a sword. On February 9, 2021, around 9:15 p.m., Seattle Police officers responded to reports of a shooting near 24th Avenue South and South Massachusetts Street. Upon arrival, officers heard multiple gunshots being fired. Gregory Taylor emerged from around the corner of the parking lot of the Northwest African American Museum, raised his firearm, and began shooting at the officers. On February 8, 2021, Jonathan O'quin entered Hillcom and fired multiple rounds, killing Kenny Hill in his apartment above the business. A deputy pursued O'quin for about three miles before O'quin turned onto Bartlick Road. O'quin stopped at Bartlick Bridge, got out of the vehicle, and fired multiple rounds at the deputy. The deputy returned fire but did not hit him. O'quin then fatally shot himself in the head with a high-powered rifle.

On 02/08/2021, at approximately 1 a.m., officers from the Detroit Police Department were responding to a request for backup with their lights and sirens activated in a marked Ford Explorer traveling east on Jeffries Service Drive. The police vehicle collided with a Lexus IS 250 driven by Clifford Woodards II at the intersection of Jeffries Service Drive and W. Chicago in Detroit, killing bystander Woordards. The officer driving, TeairaFunderburg, was later charged with involuntary manslaughter and willful neglect of duty following the investigation, which revealed she was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at a red light. Woodards, a prominent defense attorney and civil rights activist, was known for his sharp wit and community involvement. His daughter, Melissa Connelly, filed a $50 million lawsuit against the city of Detroit, alleging negligence and seeking justice for her father's death. The lawsuit highlighted that Funderburg had a history of speeding and traffic violations. Woodards was driving lawfully at the time of the crash, within the speed limit and with the right of way. The impact caused Woodards' vehicle to flip over and crash into a light pole. Officer Funderburgwas suspended without pay.In August 2022, Funderburg pleaded no contest to willful neglect of duty as part of a plea agreement, leading to the dismissal of the involuntary manslaughter charge. As a condition of the plea, she agreed to resign her Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) certification, effectively ending her career as a police officer. She was sentenced to one year of probation and 100 hours of community service.

On February 7, 2021, around 9:30 a.m., Lacy Lakeview police responded to a call from a neighbor reporting a man running around with an ax. The man, later identified as 34-year-old Dustin Demaurean Powell, allegedly struck several cars with the ax, shattering at least one window. He also reportedly hit another person with the weapon, but the injury was not severe. Officer Thomas Beasley arrived and ordered Powell to drop the ax and stop advancing toward him. Powell did not comply, and Beasley opened fire, killing him.

On February 7, 2021, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Dallas police officers responded to reports of an active shooter at an apartment in the 9800 block of Summerwood Circle. Upon arrival, officers were fired upon, resulting in damage to a squad car's window; no officers were injured, and they did not return fire. The situation escalated into a standoff, with SWAT units deployed. At around 7 p.m., officers entered the apartment and discovered three individuals deceased from gunshot wounds: 26-year-old Marietta Julieze Matthews, her mother, 55-year-old Tamiko Geniece Merriwether, and 24-year-old Nathan Rashad James. On February 6, 2021, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Long Beach Police Department officers responded to reports of a man, later identified as 26-year-old Anthony Steven Loia, walking near Magnolia Avenue and 14th Street, pointing a handgun at people and passing vehicles. Phillip Francis, 43, allegedly choked a woman, set her house on fire, and later returned to the scene where he began shooting at deputies. At least one deputy from the Orange County Sheriff's Office shot Francis. He was hospitalized following the incident and died from his injuries on February 13, 2021.

A confrontation ensued where Costlow struck Pruitt with the stick. Pruitt attempted to use his Taser on Costlow, but it was ineffective. Subsequently, Deputy Pruitt shot and killed Costlow.

On February 6, 2021, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Camden County Police Officer Edward Melton and Officer Trainee Danielle Sigwart observed a Dodge Charger driven by Rashad M. Muse speeding on Morton Street. When Officer Melton attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Muse fled the scene, leading to a brief pursuit. The officers located the vehicle after it crashed into a support in the underpass at I-676. Muse exited the vehicle and fled on foot, climbing over a fence and running up an embankment onto I-676, where he was struck by civilian vehicles and fatally injured. The incident was captured on body-worn cameras and a street camera.

On February 5, 2021, Muncie Police Department officers responded to a home in the 1600 block of North Riley Road in Muncie, Indiana, following reports of a domestic dispute. A woman who had left the house with a child and another family member informed officers that a man inside the home was loading a rifle and making threats to harm himself. It was also reported that a domestic battery had occurred. Officers contacted the man by phone but soon heard what they believed to be a gunshot from inside the residence. Over the next six hours, several more gunshots were heard. Eventually, police entered the home and discovered the man's body.

On February 5, 2021, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Trotwood Police officers responded to a theft report at the Speedway convenience store located at 5000 Olive Road where Andrew Hogan, 25, had allegedly stolen a 2-liter non-alcoholic beverage and was observed walking towards a nearby apartment complex.

Officers located Hogan near the Kensington apartment complex, where he reportedly refused commands. Police engaged him in an altercation, deployed a Taser, pepper spray, and a baton, but Hogan ran into an apartment in the 700 block of Kelford Place.

While officers awaited additional units, Hogan emerged from the apartment with a knife and allegedly lunged at Officer Michael Molchan Jr., who then opened fire, fatally wounding Hogan.

On February 4, 2021, Omar Felix Cueva, 39, was stopped by New Mexico State Police Officer Darian Jarrott on Interstate 10 near Avenida de Mesilla in Las Cruces, New Mexico, as part of an investigation with Homeland Security Investigations. During the traffic stop, Cueva fatally shot Officer Jarrott.

Cueva fled and continued driving eastbound on I-10. Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies, including the Las Cruces Police Department, New Mexico State Police, Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office, and U.S. Border Patrol, pursued him.

On February 4, 2021, around 7:41 p.m., deputies from the Clark County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Northeast 68th and Northeast 2nd Avenue in Hazel Dell, Washington. During the traffic stop, one of the deputies shot Jenoah Donald (also known as Donald D. Jonah). Donald was transported to the hospital, where he remained in critical condition. His family was informed that there was nothing more doctors could do, and they began preparations for his funeral.

On 02/04/2021, officers were searching for Dontae Green after he allegedly shot at officers at a grocery store in North Baltimore due to a dispute over his paycheck. Green was wanted on 19 charges, including attempted murder, armed robbery, and handgun violations. While police were clearing a residence associated with Green in the 1400 block of N. Mount Street, he allegedly fired at them from inside a closet. Officers returned fire, resulting in Green's death. During the incident, one deputy U.S. Marshal was seriously injured.
