On 02/27/2021 at approximately 2:00 p.m., Royal Oak Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence in the 2700 block of Oliver Road. According to reporting, Jason Raymond Sugg’s father called 911 after an argument between the two escalated. Police stated that Sugg assaulted his father before retreating inside the home.
Officers established a perimeter and issued shelter-in-place alerts to nearby residents. The situation developed into a barricaded standoff that lasted several hours. Tactical units and negotiators responded to the scene.

On 02/27/2021, an off-duty Georgia State Patrol trooper was inside a BP gas station at 448 Boulevard SE in Atlanta when a man ran into the store followed by 67-year-old Leroy Snead. According to reporting, Snead was holding a knife and pursuing the other individual inside the store.
The trooper identified himself and ordered Snead to drop the knife. The trooper moved outside the store, and Snead followed him out. Authorities stated that Snead continued advancing while holding the knife as the trooper backed away in the parking lot. The trooper fired his service weapon, striking Snead.

Deputies arrived within minutes and encountered 32-year-old Rudy M. Duvivier outside the apartment complex. Authorities reported that Duvivier fired a weapon at responding deputies. Deputies returned fire, striking him.

On 02/26/2021, Page County Sheriff’s Deputy Dominic J. Winum initiated a traffic stop in the 700 block of Marksville Road in Stanley. As Winum stopped behind the vehicle, Dakota G. Richards exited his vehicle and fired multiple rounds, striking Winum. Winum died from his injuries.
Richards fled into nearby woods. Law enforcement agencies established a perimeter and conducted a search. Officers located Richards hiding in a barn. During the confrontation that followed, deputies opened fire and killed him.

On 02/26/2021, Kalispell Police responded to reports that a red SUV had rammed multiple vehicles along U.S. 93. Officers located the vehicle unoccupied at a gas station at 2910 U.S. 93 South.
Isaiah Strong, 41, emerged from inside the store. Inside the gas station, Strong struck Officer Brady Gray with a wooden object. He also assaulted another person inside the store. Strong then struck Officer Gray again, hitting her in the upper body and head. Officer Gray fired her weapon, striking Strong. During the gunfire, one uninvolved person inside the store was also struck by a police bullet and injured.
Strong died from gunshot wounds. The injured bystander survived. The Montana Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation led the investigation into the shooting. In September 2021, Flathead County Attorney Travis Ahner announced that Officer Gray’s use of deadly force was legally justified under Montana law.

Thomas William Mack, 39, had arrived at the home of his child’s mother and shot a man who came outside the residence. The injured man survived and was transported for treatment.
A responding officer encountered Mack outside the residence. According to police statements, Mack held a handgun. The officer took cover and waited for backup. Additional officers arrived and established a perimeter while giving commands for Mack to drop the weapon.
After approximately 15 to 20 minutes, officers deployed a Taser in an attempt to subdue him. Police reported that Mack fired two rounds toward officers. Five officers then fired their weapons, striking him. Mack died from gunshot wounds at the location.

On February 25, 2021, at approximately 11 p.m., a deputy with the Augusta County Sheriff's Office was traveling westbound on VA-42 when he noticed a vehicle approaching quickly from behind. The vehicle tailgated the deputy, passed him on a double-yellow line, and accelerated to 85 mph. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle but began a pursuit when the driver allegedly improperly passed another motorist and drove on the wrong side of the road, reaching speeds of 80-100 mph. The driver lost control of the vehicle, a 1993 Lincoln Town Car driven by Ronald Alvin Colvin, which ran off the road, struck a mailbox, spun across the road, hit a ditch, became airborne, and hit a utility pole. Colvin was killed in the crash.

On 02/25/2021, at approximately 3:45 p.m., West Sacramento Police Department officers responded to the Walmart parking lot near Ikea Court after a 911 caller reported a man with a knife who had apparently injured himself. The man was subsequently identified as Adam John Lundt, 24.

Officers located Lundt in a vehicle near Ikea Court and Reed Avenue. Police ordered Lundt out of the vehicle. Body-camera and dash-camera footage later released by the department showed Lundt getting out holding a knife and what appeared to officers to be a handgun.

Police alleged that Lundt moved rapidly toward an officer while holding the weapons. Two West Sacramento police officers opened fire, striking him. Emergency medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but Lundt died at the scene.

Investigators subsequently determined that the apparent handgun Lundt carried was a pellet gun. The knife had reportedly been purchased at Walmart shortly before the encounter.

On 02/25/2021, around 9: 22 p.m., officers from the Baltimore Police Department's Inner Harbor unit were flagged down in the area of Market and Pratt streets following a non-fatal shooting. One officer provided aid to the victim, while others pursued a man who fled into the Harbor Park Garage. On the ramp into the garage, the man, identified as Benjamin D. Tyson, allegedly turned around, produced a handgun, and attempted to fire it. Multiple officers then shot and killed Tyson.

REASON FOR CHASE: A Nevada Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop Tara Cheatham while she was driving a Lexus ES 350. Cheatham fled from the attempted traffic stop at high speed. The publicly available reporting does not disclose the original reason the trooper attempted to stop her.
NARRATIVE:
On 02/24/2021, 30-year-old Tara Cheatham of Las Vegas sustained fatal injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on West Warm Springs Road after fleeing an attempted traffic stop by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper. She remained hospitalized following the crash and died from her injuries on 03/22/2021.

Shortly after 7:00 a.m., Cheatham was driving a Lexus ES 350 east on West Warm Springs Road. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's collision investigation, Cheatham was traveling at high speed after fleeing from an attempted traffic stop by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper.

As Cheatham approached Schirlls Street east of Arville Street, a Nissan Armada was traveling east ahead of her. A Nissan Sentra was traveling west, with a Hyundai Santa Fe traveling west behind it.

Cheatham attempted to pass the Armada by entering the westbound travel lane. The Lexus struck the left side of the Armada and then collided with the westbound Sentra. The Armada lost control and left the roadway while Cheatham's Lexus continued east.

The Lexus then collided with the Hyundai Santa Fe. The impact redirected the Hyundai rearward while the Lexus rotated. Cheatham was ejected from the Lexus and came to rest north of the roadway.

Emergency personnel transported Cheatham and the driver of the Hyundai to University Medical Center's Trauma Center in critical condition. Cheatham survived the initial crash but remained critically injured.

On 03/22/2021, Las Vegas police announced that Cheatham had died from injuries sustained in the February 24 collision. The fatal crash was investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Collision Investigation Section.

A person reported to the police station claiming to be a victim of domestic violence and alleged they had been assaulted with a firearm. The victim identified Alonte Murphy as the alleged assailant. Around 5 p.m., police observed Murphy arriving in a car. Murphy was reportedly armed with a semiautomatic handgun and exchanged gunfire with officers. Law enforcement shot and killed Murphy.

On February 23, 2021, around 7:30 p.m., Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputies and Eagle Point Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm in the 100 block of Idlewood Drive in Eagle Point.
