On July 3, 2025, around 2:50 a.m., Shorewood Police responded to a domestic violence call at a residence where Michael Griffin Jr. shot and killed his girlfriend, Victoria Truss. Griffin fled in a black sedan. Glendale officers spotted him in Milwaukee and decided to escalate a chase. Police pursued Griffin aggressively through city streets until he crashed near Reservoir Avenue and 6th Street. After crashing, Griffin immediately fired at officers. Police opened fire in response and killed Griffin at the scene. One officer was struck in the vest and sustained a graze injury to his shoulder. In the early morning hours of July 3, 2025, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Atlanta Police SWAT responded to a home on Burbank Drive SW in southwest Atlanta after a woman and a child escaped the residence and reported that a man inside was armed and barricaded. Officers quickly established a tight perimeter and initiated a full tactical response. The scene was militarized within minutes. Armored BearCat vehicles were positioned. High-intensity tactical lights illuminated the home and surrounding area, and loudspeakers were used to broadcast repeated commands to surrender.
SWAT bore down with pressure while tactical operators maintained positions and monitored movement using aerial drones and thermal imaging cameras. A ground-based tactical robot was deployed to recon the interior, providing live video feeds to command. Officers staged flashbang devices. During the standoff, SWAT maintained a constant presence, rotating sniper-observer teams and shield-equipped entry personnel at key access points.

On July 3, 2025, Cedar Hill Police officers attempted to stop a U-Haul van for possible impaired driving on U.S. Highway 67. The driver refused to stop. Police escalated a chase into Dallas, where the driver stopped near Town Creek Drive and Glen Oaks Boulevard. The driver fled on foot into a wooded area. During the foot pursuit, a Cedar Hill officer opened fire and fatally shot the individual. It is unknown what prompted the officer to fire lethal shots or whether the man was armed or not. On July 3, 2025, just before 7:40 a.m., Lake Charles Police responded to a 911 call reporting a man pointing a gun at passing vehicles on 12th Street. The first officer on scene reported being shot at multiple times as she exited her patrol vehicle. She returned fire, and the man fled on foot into a residential area.
Officers then set up a perimeter and tracked the man to a nearby shed. He emerged from hiding, brandished a firearm, and ran toward SWAT officers while continuing to fire. SWAT officers returned fire, striking and disabling him. He was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead. Investigators found a stolen handgun at the scene.

Deputies attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant on John Franklin Carter. Orchard Street around 4:30 p.m. They found a 71-year-old man dead from gunshot wounds and a 71-year-old woman injured with a gunshot wound to the neck. Officers located a 72-year-old man nearby, armed with a handgun and believed to be the shooter. Despite commands to drop the weapon, he refused. Six officers opened fire and killed him at the scene. The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team, led by Greenfield Police, is conducting an independent investigation. They encountered Aaron Stevenson, who was running away from the scene while armed with a machete and a firearm. Deputies shot and struck Stevenson during the encounter. On 06/27/2025 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Michigan State Police responded to a hostage situation at Mercantile Bank. Quinton Marquese Allen held an employee hostage inside the bank. Negotiators engaged for several hours. Police used a drone to deliver a drink bag. When Allen exposed himself to take the drink, an MSP sharpshooter shot and killed him. The hostage was injured but later released from the hospital.

On 06/28/2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Jyuno Alexander Daniels, 32, was found dead near train tracks in the 1300 block of Northwest 17th Avenue in Delray Beach, Florida. Daniels was wanted for a double homicide that occurred on 06/23/2025 in Boynton Beach, where a couple was shot and killed. Law enforcement officers from the Boynton Beach Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service located Daniels, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound before he could be taken into custody.
