A woman called 911 to report she had witnessed a murder at the home. SWAT and drone operators were sent and neighbors were ordered to evacuate or shelter in place. Two off-duty IMPD officers were working a moonlighting job and were in full IMPD uniform when a shooting occurred in which a man had fired at several civilians, injuring 3. The off-duty officers opened fire. A man with gunshot wounds presumed to be the shooter showed up later at an emergency room where he died from gunshot wounds. Officer Cain had previously killed Monolito Ford in 2021.

State police and local police from Warren County were sent to a Stillwater Road residence for an undisclosed reason. During a confrontation, there a state police trooper shot and killed the man. The shooting was ruled justified 30 days later by the DA. On 07/28/2024, police still had not released the name of the deceased.

Kadarius Smith was at a home having an argument and was asked to leave. Police arrived, found him on the porch and began chasing him. The unarmed teenager ran and was followed by police car and eventually run over by the police cruiser which left tire marks on his back. He died from his injuries.

A man reportedly behaving erratically was agitated, struck a deputy, was arrested and died from allegedly unknown causes in custody. He had been unarmed. Bystanders report that a deputy had forcefully slammed his head to the pavement prior to death. The department did not comment on the type of force that had been used during arrest. The San Bernardino coroner is an extension of the sheriff’s department and concerns were raised whether the autopsy which the sheriff announced would include toxicology would also include specific examination for skull and brain injuries.

Only ten days prior San Bernardino deputies had killed a 15-year-old autistic boy in his own home.

During a traffic stop in Garfield Park, plainclothes Chicago PD officers with guns drawn walked up to Dexter Reed's vehicle. Police allege that he fired at them but this is not visible on bodycam. Instead, dozens of shots are fired by the couple in civilian clothing who turned out to be Chicago PD officers. The officers fired 96 bullets at Reed in 41 seconds, killing him. A sanitized portion of the bodycam was released and is linked below.

It was confirmed later that police profiled and stopped Dexter Reed due to dark window tints.

Richland County deputies and the SRT team arrived to a domestic violence call. When police appeared, a gunshot was heard, a drone sent in and a man inside was found dead. Off-duty Summerville officer Anthony DeLustro was involved in a fight which began as verbal argument in the Chik-Fil-A parking lot with Michael O’Neal. The argument escalated into a physical brawl initiated by DeLustro who was both described and also filmed by bystanders to be the main aggressor. O’Neal attempted to defend himself and then entered his vehicle and was seen trying to escape from the attack. At that point, the wife of Officer DeLustro grabbed, subdued and restrained O’Neal to prevent him from driving away from the confrontation. DeLustro is seen entering the vehicle of O’Neal and shooting and killing him point blank. O’Neal was the son of a decorated North Carolina retired officer and grandson of the respective police chief of Winston-Salem. DeLustro stated that he identified himself as police and presented his badge, O’Neal’s family emphatically denies this story could be true, stating that O’Neal came from a law enforcement family and would not fight police. There is sufficient video and eyewitness evidence suggesting that DeLustro was the main aggressor and O’Neal was unarmed, retreating and attempting to avoid the confrontation while he was murdered by the officer who had forced himself into his vehicle. Officer Anthony DeLustro, a former NYPD cop who left NYPD for unknown reasons and became Officer DeLustro in small-town Summerville PD, was fired and arrested and charged for the murder. He is currently held without bail awaiting what the Solicitor General promises will be a trial in the near future. Updates to this case will be posted as they become available.
