Officers issued commands for all suspects to exit the property. During this process, 18-year-old Hakim Al-Nas emerged from the rear of the house with a handgun and moved toward officers stationed at the front. Police allege that Al-Nas continued advancing. One officer discharged his firearm, striking Al-Nas multiple times. Al-Nas was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is conducting an independent investigation into the incident. The involved officer has been placed on administrative leave, following standard protocol. On June 24, 2024, around midnight, an officer with the Fort Worth Police Department's Directed Response Unit attempted to stop a driver for a suspected traffic violation near West Freeway and Summit Avenue. The driver fled in a pickup truck. Police escalated a chase. The driver lost control of the pickup truck, swerved after nearly striking a police vehicle, and drove over a 4-foot concrete barrier, falling 30 feet. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

Travis Dickson, 42, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a standoff with Dothan Police on November 24, 2024. Police accused him of firing shots at a vehicle earlier and escalated a chase up to 115 mph through Dothan and rural Houston County that came to an end when his vehicle became disabled on railroad tracks. He stopped and police forced a standoff described only as "lengthy." Dickson did eventually come out of his car and according to police, he then died by suicide by shooting himself in the chest.
