On January 13, 2025, Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman filed first and second-degree murder charges against Deputy Jacob Diaz-Austin for the shooting death of Elijah Hadley. Following the filing of charges, the Otero County Sheriff's Office placed Deputy Diaz-Austin on administrative leave.

On June 25, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., 66-year-old Arthur Earl Cleveland was operating a tractor on Highway 82 near Hatchcock Road in Winona, Mississippi. At the same time, a Montgomery County Sheriff's Department patrol vehicle was traveling westbound on Highway 82. The patrol vehicle collided with the rear of Cleveland's tractor, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle. Cleveland sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The deputy was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the incident.

On June 25, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to reports of shots fired in the 9000 block of Wesleyan Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. Upon arrival, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her hand. Witnesses identified the shooter as 45-year-old Elijah Hakiem Radford, the victim's estranged husband, who had fled the scene in a maroon Dodge Ram pickup truck.

According to the victim, Radford ambushed her outside an office complex, shooting her in the hand and attempting to fire at her head; however, the firearm malfunctioned. A bystander intervened, sustaining bite injuries from Radford during the altercation. Radford then fled in his vehicle.

Officers located Radford's vehicle and initiated a pursuit, which continued for several miles at high speeds. The chase concluded in the 8400 block of Maple Leaf Lane, near Castleton Square Mall, where Radford crashed his truck and forcibly entered an apartment. Inside, he held a female resident at knifepoint.

Officers from both IMPD and the Lawrence Police Department entered the apartment and encountered Radford holding the woman hostage with a knife. Despite multiple commands to drop the weapon, Radford refused. Two officers opened fire, striking Radford. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The hostage was unharmed.

The incident remains under investigation by the IMPD Critical Incident Response Team, with findings to be reviewed by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.

On June 24, 2024, Riverside Police officers actively pursued a 2019 BMW X5 reported taken without permission by a family member. Officers observed the vehicle in Riverside and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver, 19-year-old Jennefer L. Arellano-Maldonado of Odenville, Alabama, refused to stop.

Officers escalated the chase, following the BMW at high speeds through residential areas. Arellano-Maldonado lost control on Depot Street near Lakeview Circle. The BMW crashed into the remains of Riverside Baptist Church, a site where her boyfriend, 19-year-old Anthony Banks Jr., had died in a crash days earlier. The vehicle struck a brick wall and burst into flames.

Arellano-Maldonado was pronounced dead at the scene. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is conducting an independent investigation into the chase and crash. Police have not disclosed the identities of the pursuing officers or any administrative actions resulting from the incident.

Daniel Allen Johnson, a 43-year-old resident of Birmingham's Forest Park community, was shot and killed by police responding to a disorderly conduct report on June 24, 2024. Upon arrival, police encountered Johnson, who allegedly presented a knife. During the altercation, an officer discharged their weapon, fatally wounding Johnson. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:18 p.m.

His friend told a TV station, “He was leaning up against the tree and he was saying, ‘Get the light off of me. Please get the light off of me,’’' and “They were bickering back and forth and they were just saying the same things over and over. It was just heated and intense and I was like what the hell is happening over there.

The officer was seen firing at least 2 shots into him. He died at the hospital. His life partner of 24 years describes him as a very kind spiritual man. He is believed to have been unarmed.

Clayton County Police officers responded swiftly to the suspicious person call. Upon arrival, officers observed two individuals climbing out of a back window and two others inside the residence. Officers issued commands for all suspects to exit the property. During this process, 18-year-old Hakim Al-Nas emerged from the rear of the house with a handgun and moved toward officers stationed at the front. Police allege that Al-Nas continued advancing. One officer discharged his firearm, striking Al-Nas multiple times. Al-Nas was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is conducting an independent investigation into the incident. The involved officer has been placed on administrative leave, following standard protocol. The identities of the officer and the other detained individuals—two 18-year-olds and one 16-year-old—have not been disclosed. Al-Nas's mother, Chanteris Durham, expressed profound grief, stating, "It has broken us." She noted that her son had recently graduated from high school and was looking forward to his future.
