Jasper County police state that 48-year-old Roderic Tyrone Moss killed himself with a self-inflicted gunshot in Clarke County around 3 p.m. Wednesday when they arrived to arrest him for a homicide. When police arrived at the residence, Moss reportedly ran into the home, and police then heard a gunshot. SWAT deployed gas. When the gas cleared, a robot was sent into the home and showed video footage of Moss’ body.

Montgomery County Regional Dispatch received a call around 5:49 a.m. on Wednesday regarding an unoccupied white SUV in the DeSoto Bass apartment complex. The caller stated that the SUV was damaged with the airbag deployed. Additionally, the caller said the car was starting to smoke. Dayton police officers were dispatched and found a white Chevrolet SUV that had damage believed to be sustained in a crash. Police found the injured driver. While waiting for a medic, the driverstarted to become agitated. As officers tried to handcuff him, he resisted and a struggle began. He lost consciousness and died. The officers were Officers Chelsea Weitz and Dylan Lehotay.

Ogden PD were first called to 170 North Washington Blvd after a 911 caller told them a protective order had been violated. The 911 caller said that Simonton was agitated, armed, and acting like he wanted to kill himself or be killed. As soon as a responding officer arrived on the scene, “Simonton did not comply and ultimately raised the handgun, and pointed it at the officer and fired,” police claimed. Eight officers arrived and started a shootout. Simonton was killed.
