OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Chicago PD believed David Curry had hit a woman with a gun on a previous occasion and when they saw him, they began a foot chase. During the foot chase, police allege that he stopped and they accidentally ran into him, knocking him down. COPA released the bodycam which shows the officer violently pushing him and a bystander confronting police, commenting “you did not have to slam him like that.” Curry is seen to lose consciousness with blood pouring from his head. He died from the head injury later in the hospital.
