OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On June 15, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Michael William Nash, 42, arrived at the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Armed with a Glock 43 semi-automatic handgun, Nash fired 36 rounds indiscriminately, injuring nine individuals, including two children. He then fled the scene in his vehicle. Authorities tracked Nash to his residence in Shelby Township, approximately half a mile from the splash pad. After a five-hour standoff, during which police attempts to communicate with Nash were unsuccessful, officers entered the home and found him deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
