OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On June 8, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Alcorn County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 5 County Road 575 in Corinth, Mississippi. Upon arrival, deputies observed 39-year-old Jason Michael Sekerak striking his mother, Geraldine Lambert, in the head with an object. Deputies fired a taser, and a deputy opened fire, striking Sekerak. He was transported to Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was pronounced dead on June 11, 2024.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is conducting an inquiry into the incident, with findings to be shared with the Attorney General’s Office for review.
