OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 07/27/2024, 52-year-old Jason Rogers barricaded himself inside a residence on Carney Drive, holding two hostages, including his 14-year-old daughter Claire McDaniel. Officers from White Hall Police Department, Arkansas State Police, and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies surrounded the house, with SWAT teams on scene. During the standoff, Rogers shot both of his hostages, including Claire, before turning the weapon on himself. The event ended with all three individuals deceased. The incident is under investigation by the Arkansas State Police.
