OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On July 6, 2024, a Sherburne County Sheriff's Deputy initiated a pursuit of a stolen 2017 Ram pickup truck on Highway 10 in Becker, Minnesota. The driver failed to stop, leading to a high-speed chase with speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. The pursuit continued into the city of Becker, where the fleeing vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of Highway 10 and Liberty Lane, colliding with a Toyota Camry driven by 36-year-old Christopher Vyskocil. The crash involved a total of four vehicles. Vyskocil suffered severe head trauma and was airlifted to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale. He succumbed to his injuries on July 15, 2024. Christopher Vyskocil was a nurse at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center and is survived by his wife, Brittany, and their four children. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support the Vyskocil family.
