Meanwhile, elsewhere in Lower Manhattan, a vehicle hit an off-duty NYPD officer and fled. The NYPD officer chased the vehicle at high-speed until it crashed into a bystander vehicle, killing Kirk Walker. The case is being investigated by AG Leticia Walker to determine whether this falls under police pursuits since the officer who had initiated and escalated the chase had been off-duty and pursuing someone who had damaged his vehicle.
