On August 9, 2024, US Marshals, assisted by an unnamed task force and the Anaheim Police Department, attempted to arrest Victor Antonio Delgadillo at the intersection of La Palma Avenue and State College Boulevard in Anaheim. Delgadillo, who was wanted for a homicide in Iowa, was confronted by officers while they were serving a search warrant. Following the interaction, Delgadillo was shot and later pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. Police also discovered a firearm at the scene. No officers were injured, but a bystander suffered a minor gunshot injury. The incident is under investigation by the Orange County District Attorney’s office.
