On 07/06/2024, a Vallejo police officer attempted to stop a dark gray Mercedes near Sonoma Boulevard and Lemon Street shortly before 1:00 a.m. The driver continued driving away at a high rate of speed, and police pursued northbound on Sonoma Boulevard. Dispatch traffic indicated the Mercedes was traveling approximately 75 mph before it entered the intersection of Sonoma Boulevard and Tennessee Street, where it collided with a Subaru occupied by uninvolved civilians. The crash left one male occupant of the Mercedes dead at the scene. Three other occupants of the Mercedes and the two occupants of the Subaru were transported to hospitals with injuries.
