On 08/01/2024, a man staying at Eagle Suites in Conway was reportedly seen breaking into a vehicle and later emerged holding a firearm. Law enforcement officers responded by initiating a standoff at the hotel. SWAT teams were called in, and the situation escalated over several hours. When officers decided to forcibly enter the room, they found the man unresponsive, having died from a gunshot wound, which appeared to be self-inflicted. The incident is under investigation by the Arkansas State Police.
