OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Rick Alastor Newman was allegedly in a mental health crisis and may have threatened a relative a handgun. Police arrived and she fled. Police pursued her through town and located her outside of a shopping complex. Police state that she still had a handgun. Bozeman PD and Gallatin County SWAT escalated lengthy standoff during which she started to put down the gun and then allegedly picked it up again. Police shot and killed her.
