This confrontation escalated into a prolonged and intense standoff during which Rodriguez allegedly fired intermittently at law enforcement.

The multi-agency task force responded with advanced tactical equipment, including drones, an armored Lenco BearCat vehicle, and a robotic "dog" manufactured by Boston Dynamics, known as Spot. After several hours of relentless pressure, the SWAT team used the BearCat to breach the residence with a battering ram. To further incapacitate Rodriguez, the task force deployed multiple flashbang grenades and tear gas canisters to disorient and overwhelm him.
