On 04/14/2024, officers from the Cannon Falls Police Department responded to an incident at the Mayo Clinic on County 24 Boulevard in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. Upon arrival, officers encountered a man with a gun.

Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation and urged the man to disarm. Despite their efforts, the individual reportedly turned the firearm on himself and fired, resulting in a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
