Paul Rolfes was fatally shot by Helena Police officers after an altercation at Jester's Bar on November 2, 2024. Police responded to a call reporting a man who was refusing to leave the bar and had locked himself in the bathroom. After officers forced entry, Rolfes allegedly confronted them with a knife, which led to the use of a taser. Reports indicate that Rolfes then allegedly stabbed an officer during the struggle, prompting officers to use their firearms, killing him. The incident is being investigated by the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office.
