On November 4, 2024, around 5:45 a.m., Jackson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a man walking with a rifle on Wonder Road in Marianna, Florida. Upon arrival, deputies attempted to de-escalate the situation by deploying non-lethal projectiles. According to their statement, the man raised the rifle toward them, leading deputies to fire multiple shots, killing him.
