On 11/11/2024, Boise Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance call on N. Liberty Street involving Guadalupe Reyes, 47, who was reportedly holding another individual against their will inside a residence while armed with a knife. When officers arrived, Reyes emerged from the home holding the knife. Initial reports state Reyes was cooperative, but officers fired and killed him. The circumstances surrounding the decision to use deadly force remain under investigation. The Ada County Coroner’s Office is determining the official cause and manner of death. The Critical Incident Task Force is investigating the shooting.
