On November 10, 2024, at 11:30 p.m., Buffalo police began pursuing a 14-year-old driving a stolen vehicle at high speed. The teenager fled from officers, ran a red light, and crashed into two other vehicles at Elmwood and Amherst Street. The driver was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Buffalo Police Department is investigating, with an independent review by the Attorney General's Office.
