OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On November 28, 2024, Brea Police Department officers responded to reports of a possible DUI driver near Lambert Road and the 57 Freeway. Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle against a retaining wall in the westbound lanes of Lambert Road, just east of the freeway. Officers made contact with the driver, and shortly thereafter, an officer-involved shooting occurred. The driver was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The circumstances leading to the shooting are under investigation by the Orange County District Attorney's Office, as per department policy.
